Old and overpriced. Woke up in the morning with bites all over my body. It’s very cold outside, so I assume it wasn’t mosquitoes. Very basic room, dirty mattress cover with yellow staines. Was only checking as I woke up with all these bumps. Not pleasant.

As an older building, however, there are some tradeoffs, notably no elevator (not bellman), yet another reason to pack light. The location is lovely, in the center of a traditional fishing district and a short walk across to the harbor and beach. The hotel furnishes nice warm full-length down robes to guests who want to swim in the ocean. The rooms are clean and the ones facing the street/ocean have roomy balconies and nice views.CEBenzUnited States

The key was "handed over" via a keysafe so it was no problem that we arrived later in the evening. We could park our car on the street for free. The public transport between Charlottenlund and Copenhagen is very good (Charlottenlund -> Noerreport Station in Copenhagen: 13 minutes ride with the metro). It took us a 10 minutes walk to get to the metro.

Our room, no. 11, was large, with a balcony and a lovely view out to the water. The staff are wonderful- friendly, helpful, accommodating. The breakfast is fabulous, absolutely worth the extra charge. The hotel and the neighborhood are quiet. There is a city bus that stops in front of the hotel that takes you to the center of town ( you need Kroners in exact change to ride).

Staff went there to smoke. Bathroom mould needed removing on shower screen and bottom of bathroom door had been wet and was disintegrating. On the plus side the bus stop is outside the hotel and we could go for a long walk along the see front.
