Very good welcome from the duty manager. Lovely riverside location. Excellent food in restaurant and good breakfast selection. Cosy and comfortable bedroom with lovely decor. Very nice toiletries provided.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The little touches in the room were wonderful, such as a great hairdryer and locally made produce for the bathroom and biscuits. The breakfast was out of this world.

The hotel is in a lovely village but very close to motorway. The grounds are lovely and good parking is available.The hotel itself is full of character our room was great. Food in restaurant and breakfast excellent. All the staff very friendly and helpful .

Great place to visit with a good choice of eateries and pubs. The bookshop is amazing and is a lovely place to browse and have a coffee. Good bus links with Penrith Station if you are using public transport. Fantastic walks from the doorstep, including the Eamont and Ullswater Ways.

Love Pooley bridge, long walks by the lake, around 4 pubs/restaurants with a few shops, campsite up the road is outstanding - Hillcroft. Easy walk over the bridge for an hour boat trip. Blue light card friendly . Dog & child friendly can't wait to return.James - 8.0Scored 8.0

Beautiful lake.
Beautiful lake. We enjoyed the boat trip from the pier which allowed us to have nice family walks in the gorgeous Lake District. We also appreciated the kids-friendly local pubs and good outdoor spaces. Castles and the Hadrian wall are also nearby. Lovely walks in the surrounding area, especially by the lake. Well stocked bookshop with lovely adjoining coffee shop. We travelled there by car, but there seems to be a good bus service, especially to Penrith and also saw one service bus going to Windermere.

Very busy but beautiful spot. The views along Ullswater if you walk towards Howtown are fabulous…….i More charm and less commercial than Windermere. Once the crowds disappear or before they arrive is great Except the Sun Inn the pubs are really food places not bars……

I made this booking as the hotel was dog friendly, I was happy with the size of the double room for us, it was cosy and nicely furnished. I arrived back from walks to a clean room and fresh towels provided which was a bonus. The stay included breakfast with a good variety of options for food and re-fills on drinks. Nice to walk around the fields with the dog out the back of the hall first thing eventually finding my way to Barton church and only a 15min walk over the fields to the centre of Pooley Bridge.
