White Horse & Griffin, hotel in Fylingthorpe

Set in a 17th-century building, this guest accommodation serves local, fresh seafood in its restaurant and has elegant rooms.

Hotel is an old Inn so expect steep stairs etc. Its location is perfect for wandering around Whitby, the Abbey is directly behind at the top of the steps. Breakfast was served and was of a good standard, though cereals and fruit would have been a nice add on if available. Room was comfortable though in need of some tlc.

Wow! What a great place just superb!..

Wow! What a great place just superb!.. Like being at home for a long weekend and made to feel so welcome. Everything and I mean everything you'd want from a stay away. We left it as spotless as we found it. Will definitely be back when our schedule allows.

We liked the solitude and abundance of walks available.

We liked the solitude and abundance of walks available. This location is suitable for active walkers and hikers but could be challenging for family's with young children. The fylingthorpe inn provides a good menu at reasonable prices and the delights of Robin Hoods bay is close by

Perfect place to take the kids. We have been a few times now and doesn’t disappoint. clean accommodation, fab themed cafe with cosy wood burner. friendly helpful staff and good food and drink. It’s a youth hostel and not a five star hotel but this is a fab youth hostel.

This is a hidden gem. A hotel that sits on the beach but away from everything else. You are hidden away from everything, but it’s still bustling. Such a lovely magical feel to it. Cake is amazing.
