Burford is a medium sized Cotswolds town - pretty, lots of places to eat and drink, local independent shops and a good place as a base to explore the wider Cotswolds area. Burford Golf Club is very close, as is the Cotswolds Wildlife Park. Both recommended.

Burford is a great place to visit.

Burford is a great place to visit. The shops are individual and interesting and it is one of the best places for pubs with open fires in winter. It is a very attractive place with many interesting buildings. A short distance away is a wonderful garden centre. We ate one night at the Highway Inn where we were staying and the next night at the Lamb. Good meals in both.

Lovely friendly staff, they couldn’t do enough for us. Sarah sorted the rooms out. Ioan, big Jake, Ruth, Maisey and Grace were also extremely helpful in their allocated roles. Beautiful hotel and windrush room was gorgeous. We are there in the evenings and both nights the food was delicious.

The Hound Cottage in Burford is an exceptional period cottage, situated only a few steps away from the centre of the village. We had a brief conversation with the hosts prior to our arrival and all our questions were answered. As you would expect with a period cottage the ceilings, especially in the bathroom, are quite low so keep that in mind when booking this beautiful cottage. Burford is a perfect base to explore the Cotswolds with its stunning nature, excellent pubs and restaurants and many sights nearby.

I have stayed before and will stay again. This is a very well run friendly establishment. They think of every comfort, the bigger names fall short on, to make your stay relaxing and stress free. The beds are comfy, the food is delicious. They are right on the high street so very well situated for the town of Burford and travelling out to the Cotswold. The shower room is separate, but right opposite, so give this hotel a try, you won't be disappointed.

The property is in a fantastic location. Short walk to Burford with free parking and easy access to lots of lovely surrounding villages and towns. Therefore an excellent base for exploring the cotswolds. The property is clean and welcoming and had a lovely surprise welcome hamper on arrival, with all the essentials and a few added treats too! The property had all the basics, was extremely comfortable and had fantastic views. Can’t wait to visit again!

We always choose The Lamb Inn for our getaway weekends to Burford. This time however we had a very small room. Tiny bathroom and the room was at eye level to the road so we had to keep the curtains drawn due to passers-by. It was fine to sleep in but not really a room to stay in to relax for the early evening. We chose to read in the Bar before dinner rather than sit in the room. Bed was comfy though

Our trip was for my boyfriends birthday and we had the best time!!! Beautiful pub / bed & breakfast. Room was amazingly spacious and very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect (hidden down a little side road from the main Burford strip). Loved all the other pubs in Burford which were all in a short walking distance! Cannot recommend enough - we cant to come again!

Great location for exploring the town and surrounding areas. Parking is restricted in town but there is a decent sized free car park close to the hotel. Phone signal is Burford is awful but the hotel has free wifi, as did most of the pubs visited. Breakfasts were amazing and had a great variety of delicious options.

Staff on reception very friendly and the bar area was just what we expected from an old pub/inn with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was tasty especially the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. Great pubs in the high street and had a wonderful meal at the Burford House Hotel in the evening.

Lovely, clean, comfortable. Pretty hotel with nice views. Very helpful staff. The coffee in the breakfast room wasn't that good, but not that big a deal. We'd definitely recommend it. Had a lot of the charm of an old hotel but the niceness of a new one.
