My hometown, Butuan City is now progressive compared when we left in 1983.It has now big malls like SM and Robinsons; many hotels are also mushrooming and there are a lot of fast food chains and local restaurants offering good food.

Staying at the Grand Palace was made and later seen as best place to stay. The accommodations are big rooms with cold air con on high. Yes the single room is just that and not much extra. The bigger rooms are a little more for so much more room. The whole set up works great.
Then know, there are no food stop’s anywhere near by. The Gaisono and SM are a good walk, or if too sweaty a day, take tricycles there. Food galore. Taxis play the main streets and tricycles take the local back streets. Many one or other not allowed to go.
Downtown has all needed as the Hotel, malls, and official places need to go.
Being in remote places here it is a great relief to go.

Typical of a small Filipino city.
Typical of a small Filipino city. Two very good malls, Robinson's and SM with SM being new and having lots of choices of eating places. Robinson's lost a few restaurants because of covid and some never reopened so a few empty places. Traffic is OK but the drivers are sometimes not considerate of other drivers but I guess that's typical of any city They keep the tricycles away from the malls so that is a good thing as they can be very annoying to other drivers. . Didn't venture out to see any sights as our stay was short but I guess there are places to visit if you are so inclined.

A lot of places to explore for Cultural Heritage, fun, and shopping. It is also near Siargao and the tourist destinations in Surigao del Sur. A perfect gateway to the Caraga Region. The tourism information office at the airport and other locations in the city are helpful. Taxis are abound to bring you to your destination within the city proper.

I live in Surigao and the road from there to Butuan is a horrible road and I do not like driving along it at night so when I travel to Butuan I like to stay the night. So I cannot really give a view of Butuan unless you want to know about Robinson's mall.
property is in close proximity with the city public market, a plus. Traffic is somewhat pretty busy during business hours; the street is a major access road to and from the market. Parking is minimal, on the side of the public street. The shower has an electric hot water supply. This facility is good for a budget accommodation and is affordable.
The security staff were absolutely amazing. Their care in customer service was excellent and really heart warming.
The staff at the hotel accommodated my every needs and we're very helpful.
The room was very large and spacious.
I will definitely be staying at the Grand Palace Hotel again
10/10. Rating
Close to the airport but far from the city and the place was hard to find.
The host was kind of rude and made me upset for reminding me not to bring anything from the inside the house upon checking out!.. for what? We just stayed for a night to make it sure we're on time for our flight..
I had my DFA appointment so naturally I'd pick a place that's convenient for me. This hotel is literally connected to the mall building that houses DFA and I guess that's the only think that I liked here. The staff is also friendly and attended to our requests and Breakfast concerns.
Breakfast was okay but you could always order something different at the restaurant. Yes, of course you pay for it in which I did. I stayed in this place 3 times now and would check in again in the future if there's no brand new hotel around in Butuan.
it was pretty 3rd world, a hotel half finished with rotting plywood patches. A bit too expensive. too expensive for it’s worth. there was no food on the lobby, dirty faded paint, the hot water malfunctioned and the sheets had patches and stains.
Its not fancy but great value for a quiet room with A/C and WiFi in living room/kitchen.
Location a little difficult to find but right in heart of Butuan and close to mall/bus station
Caretaker/host very friendly and helpful
Since I'm not expecting a 4-5 star hotel kind of accommodation, Pines Mansion was ALL GOOD. I stayed there for 10 days. I like the staff, they're very accommodating. I like the house itself. Thank you for allowing me to stay. :>
The location was very accessible and convenient to Butuan Doctor’s Hospital and other establishments in the city proper which I loved the most. The staffs were very friendly and accommodating while the lobby is really cozy. 🥰
The staff are sensational. I ended up staying for over a week. Rather than a hotel they booked me in a dorm room. So there were lots of beds. That was fine. It all worked out fine.
The biggest asset to the hotel is the restaurant. Lime & Zest is far out one of the better places to eat in Mindanao.
The room was spacious, clean and got everything needed.
Loved the peacefulness and staff friendliness. Exec suite was well worth it and breakfast was perfect. This place seems like a 4 star hotel to me not 3.
