The room was very nice, the location is also very good and the hosts are super nice. We could even make owr own tea in the dining room any time we wanted. The view is gorgeous from the terrace and also from the dining room, so you can enjoy it even during dinner. Breakfasts and dinners were very good.

The property was stunning with great views. The room was massive with a balcony, tv and kettle. The bed was very comfortable and clean, there was no mosquito net, however, we never had any problems with insects/mosquitos here.
The bathroom was stunning and the shower was incredible! Hot water and powerful.
The staff were very helpful and arranged transport to Lipton Seat for 5am to go for sunrise, the staff were up and waiting on us at 5am to ensure the transport had arrived and everything went smoothly.
We had dinner and breakfast in the property and they were both nice. There was no choice for breakfast and it was continental, I would’ve liked a Sri Lankan option.

We've been to many 5-star hotels all around the world, and surprisingly received the best hospotality service in this Hotel during our 2 night stay. It's a hidden gem !!! The view is epic from infinity pool. The food is Michelin level perfect. They light up dome fire while you dine outdoors (evenings might be little chill) there are 2 roms with fire place & ready to be fired up upon your request. They even put hot water bags into your bed during evening turn-down service, who expects such thing in the middle of Haputale :) Definetely will come back

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price.
Views from our balcony were spectacular and the food - both dinner and breakfast - was top notch

Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop.
Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop. Haputale has fabulous views right in town and from your lodge, but there is a draught of travellers hang out cafés, while in Ella, you got to hike for the views, the town is packed with cafés and restaurants that makes you want to stay longer. Lodges in Haputale doesn't seem to put people together for shared transport to Horton plains anymore. Almost nobody is going there. I got a very good deal on transport there, but bailed in the gate and went back, due to extortionate entrance fees that added up to $49 for 1 person! - for a 3h hike!!!! - Lipton seat is well worth it though. Go early in the day before the clouds are covering it. The ride up takes you through beautiful tea plantations as well.

It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking. The weather is wonderful, it's a place where the weather changes 6 times a day. Beautiful.
Bambarakanda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Upper Diyaluma, Haputale Mountain, Lipton's Seat, and Horton Plains are nearby places. Adhisham's Bungalow is another unique experience to see the wildlife in night.

Easy access to famous Adisham bungalow and numerous walking trails. Good base for excursions to Horton Plains, Lipton's Seat, and impressive waterfalls. Haputale station is on scenic railway line through Hill Country. Best to stay in a guesthouse in the surrounding countryside rather than in town centre.
I booked my stay only a couple of days before, and totally lucked out. The hotel is glorious with panoramic views (the view from the bath was to die for!). A true sanctuary in the mountains, but also with great access to explore the surrounding area if you like. Mike and Ru were brilliant hosts, truly went above and beyond with special effort to connect with all of their guests. Some of the best food I've had the pleasure of eating ever (special shout to Ru's coconut cake!).
✍️👍Such a nice place to stay in Haputale. The terraces with a view is absolutely stunning, the room is very clean and comfortable and the host wife is the best cook ! Best rice and with chicken curry 🍛 we had in the whole trip. The whole family is really welcoming and nice. They improvised a cooking class so i could learn how to make these delicious curries at home. Breakfast is also very good. Don't miss this place.
This place like our home.
We had great time hear..
Everything! It was the most beautiful, elegant, welcoming place we stayed in all of Sri Lanka! The home is a true bed & breakfast. The food was amazing and host couple was absolutely lovely. We found this place by chance while looking for lodging on a stopover near Ella. It was the best surprise. We could have stayed here for days. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! It was a highlight of the trip. Thank you for having us!
Shan and his brother are wonderful hosts. The guesthouse is a short tuk tuk ride from Haputale. The views are spectacular and you have easy access to two Pekoe trail sections from the property. Shan also organised our sunrise excursion to Lipton tea seat and a fantastic cooking class on the property. If you are looking for somewhere away from the touristy areas in the tea region, this is a great option.
The location is wonderful for a traveller visiting Haputale. Only few meters from the Colombo-Badulla highway. We stayed two nights and we thought the value for money was impressive and much more than we expected.. Great room, yummy food and a view for the very reasonable amount we paid. Bonus, the early morning we went to Lipton Seat we had the best ever views you could have imagined.
Very bad customer service with online booking. Actually we had a booked the three family room on that day and got confirmation email from you. When we came to Haputale Rest they told us. No more room available. We tried called you but nobody response the call.. really disappointed with our all family. We need to complain about this insident to your management.
The owner Naleef was a lovely man who speaks excellent English & clearly wanted his guests to enjoy Haputale . He freely gave good information about the local area & his wife cooked delicious dinners & breakfasts. We stayed 3 nights. The view from the balcony and rooms was exceptional. This is an excellent base from which to explore. Thank you Naleef & family.
The view from the room, as well as the hotel, has the most stunning view of Haputale, helpful and friendly staff. The cleanness of the room is adequate. Would have been helpful to have a quilt cover in the room, as it gets chilly at night. Hot water facilities work fine. It walking distance of the Haputale town and eating place, which is convenient.
Very peaceful location with amazing views, but easy walking distance to Haputale station, shops, bank, tuks tuks etc. Rooms large, with huge private balconies over looking mountains. Garminy, the manager, and Kasun, the owner, are both incredibly helpful and kind. The food is good. It's really good value for money.
Everything!! Amazinggg views, lovely rooms with epic bathrooms. Attentive and friendly staff who seem just genuinely delightful. live music in the restaurant in the evening, incredible food - both breakfast and dinner!!! So peaceful and just lovely all round after a hectic couple of weeks travelling round Sri Lanka.
This place is so amazing, both because of the view and because of the lovely family that runs the place. The food is the best we have had in Sri Lanka and we got to have a cooking class with them as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is going to Haputale.
The hotel was close to town. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was tasty. Mr. Amarasinghe is a great host. Very friendly and helpful. He arranged meals for us and provided everything we asked for without any hesitation., even a phone charger :-)
The host was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was really tasty, the host helped us a lot to fulfill our dreams in terms of attractions in Haputale and in the surrounding area. They also kindly met us at the train station late evening. Very grateful !
Location is very nice. Beautiful view. This place is about 1km away from the Haputale city center. Also close to Adisham bungalow. Tasty homemade food. Family is very friendly so we felt like our own home. Highly recommended.
Great hotel, very comfy and clean room, the staff were really friendly and helpful, amazing views from the balcony and rooftop, and it was very reasonably priced - definitely recommend to stay here if you are in Haputale.
The rooms Is very comfortable , clean environment and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting haputhale
