The apartment was located in a good location. A short distance to the train and bus stop. Restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment was spacious, pleasant, clean and well equipped. Ettlingen is one of my favorite small towns in Germany. It's beauty has always attracted me, along with its several good restaurants, its quick access to Karlsruhe via street car, and the friendliness of the people. Small old town with many listed buildings. The old town was mainly pedestrianised with cobbled streets. Good selection of restaurants and cafes. It would probably be a good base for exploring the area - we only had one night so were a little limited. We enjoyed walking around and along the river. We found a very Germanic restaurant off the main square. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were some nice parks and a pretty Physic Garden. Public transport seemed good although we didn't use it - there are trams into Karlsruhe as well as buses .
