Upon walking in the place had an "Olde Worlde" feel which I tend to like - lots of pics on the wall from the hotel in days gone by, and generally an air of 70's charm. However, as we walked to our room there were child's drawings blu-tacked to the wall, and there was a child kicking a football in the hallway. It became clear that we were staying in a direct-provision center. The trip went downhill from there.

Beautiful vibrant town with welcoming people everywhere.
Beautiful vibrant town with welcoming people everywhere. The area by the river is particularly beautiful. There are plenty of things to do and see and the market ( if you get the chance to see it) is lovely. The tiny Costello chapel is moving and a tiny gem. Really good range of places to eat and some very excellent ones amongst them. The whole town has a bustling vibrant feel and is a complete delight. It is well located to allow you to visit a range fo places of interest further afield.

Potters Lodge offers perfect accommodation for 4 people. Tastefully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It's in a nice setting next to a beautiful historic house. We were welcomed by Ruth on arrival and two nice chocolate bars and a bottle of wine in the fridge. We used it as a base to explore Lough Key, Boyle Abbey, Arigna Mines and Carrick on Shannon. A car is essential and a small supply of groceries due to its remote location. We would happily return again ~ Thank you Ruth.
We didn’t stay at the property. The little gem by the boardwalk was disgusting, dated, and did not have anything to recommend it. It was mis sold and I therefore request a complete refund. I understood that the bathroom was an en suite and that we would have some privacy and not sharing the apartment with the proprietor. We had to check into an hotel which cost us €500.00 for the three nights.
We await your response!!
Brilliant house, especially for children and a bonus that it allows pets. The children loved the trampoline and climbing frame.
Very private with plenty of space for the children and dogs to run about, yet only a 5 minute drive to Tesco and a shopping outlet, and a 10 minute drive to Carrick on Shannon town centre.
House quite modern, with a cosy living room. Nice view of the lake.
Will definitely return
Tucked away on Leitrim Village high street it could easily be missed at night-time but is more spacious than its outside suggests. It is only 100 meters from the Canal and Marina. Functioning as self-catering during the pandemic it has everything you need and everything is to a very high standard. We very much enjoyed our stay and it proved to be a good base for our 800km of travel. 5*
A friend and I stayed here while we were on a hen weekend in carrick on Shannon. We wanted a bit of peace and quiet away from the town and that is what we got! The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was perfect, all the amenities we needed and even a gorgeous terrace area to enjoy a cup of tea before hitting the town. Only wish we got to stay longer!
This was probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in! It was ideally situated to access Carrick On Shannon, being approx 3km from town centre. Kate, the owner of the place was such good craic, we will definitely go back. Breakfast was to die for, there was absolutely everything you could think of and more. Bedroom was so comfortable and we had such a great sleep.

Great value room, and very comfortable. Ideally located in Leitrim Village, close to Carrick and easy to get anywhere. Very welcoming and friendly, and everything spotlessly clean. Great having a microwave / fridge just to make some meals a bit easier. Wifi was great.
Nice property but cost was very high given the quality. The location is fab, we sat watching boats go by in the sun outside which was lovely. The food was very nice. we had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel and staff were fab.
Perfect location in centre of Carrick on Shannon. I had a room right at the back of the hotel and it was so quiet. Lovely comfy bed and immaculately clean. Parking right outside the hotel. Staff were so welcoming and friendly.
