Staff was extremely courteous and responsive, reception manager during checkin was really nice, was fluent in English, he advised us to cycle around, arranged the cycles, advised on where all we can have the excellent sunset views, Staff in the restaurant were also so so courteous , they were ever present but not in one's face - they literally made us feel like a king and a queen in the palace :). Location is out of the world with the 360 degree views of the sun, sea and the lands below.
Room was just like what a king might have, with the huge and comfy beds, excellent bathroom, extra high ceilings, amazing lights and couches to sit in the balcony area to see the view outside if one does not want to go outside.

Quaint little laid back town with really nice French...
Quaint little laid back town with really nice French colonial architecture. The promenade on the riverside is beautifully lined with trees. A lot of nature and amazing views of the river and the hills. A nice short trip getaway from the hustle & bustle of Phnom Penh.
Day one - Spectacular sunset in front of the river while sipping a drink.
Day two - Enjoyed the tour I took of the pepper plantation, the cave, salt fields and Kep seaside. I ended the day with a sumptuous Portuguese dinner at Tertulia by the river. This place is a bit away from the center.
Day three - had a fun and educational Khmer cooking lessons at the Kampot Seafood & Pepper restaurant. The ladies over there were so sweet, nice and patient with me, trying to learn 3 courses. It was very well worth it.
I wish I stayed longer! Will definitely be back soon!

My stay in Kampot was nothing short of enchanting.
My stay in Kampot was nothing short of enchanting. The town exudes a romantic atmosphere, thanks to its rich French history reflected in the captivating architecture. As a photographer, I found myself captivated by the quaint streets adorned with French-inspired buildings and the iconic tuk-tuks bustling about. It felt like stepping back in time to a bygone era. The abundance of charming cafes and restaurants offered a delightful dilemma of choice, with cuisines ranging from Turkish to Khmer delights. Exploring the riverside and soaking in the vibrant energy of the town was a highlight, though I regret not having enough time to venture to Bokor Mountain. Kampot truly deserves more than just a short visit; it's a place to be savored and explored at leisure.

This is such a lovely place to visit apart from the blatant sex industry that makes much of the nighltlife seedy and uninviting. There are lots of single western middle aged men filling up the bars which made them totally unsuitable for women or couples. Otherwise there are some wonderful places to go, we found some super bars and had incredible meals at Rikitikitavi for Khmer as well as western food (we had 2 meals there, both Khmer, both wonderful) which has a lovely vibe, and Simon's, a bit like a canteen but wonderful paneer curries. Go to Epic Arts Cafe, fantastic food and a social enterprise cafe for children and young people with disabilities, it's amazing. It is clear that Kampot, and indeed Cambodia, has been hit hard by Covid and is still recovering, for example the town's museum has not reopened, so travelling here is going to help hugely, but the rubbish strewn around everywhere is unappealing. The markets are very local and a real insight into Cambodian life. We enjoyed the Kampot pepper farm expereince at La Plantation, the staff were great, it is a socially responsible venture and lunch there was incredible too. Roads are a bit hectic and in places in poor condition but you can see some investment in place for repair works. We still enjoyed exploring the area on a moped. We travelled here in comfort from Phnom Penh with Giant Ibis. We left Kampot to go to Vietnam via Ha Tien which worked well but was far more chaotic and the tiny minibus we were on was very ropey indeed! However, Kampot is an excellent base for the region, shame the train travel is so limited.

I live in Phnom Penh, so Kampot is my short break location of choice. It is just 3 hours by private taxi ($50 each way) and it is a small peaceful riverside town with many nice options for food and relaxation. Some of the hotels have pools but they tend to attract largely families with small children. There are lots of places to explore nearby and can be accessed by tuk-tuk or you can hire a moto. Definitely worth a visit if travelling Cambodia.

Great place to visit to enjoy the area surrounding it.
Great place to visit to enjoy the area surrounding it. Filled with restaurant and bars, super convenient and easy to find anywhere eat or drink for reasonable prices. We stayed centrally but suggest staying slightly farther out, as the central area is easy to walk or get to from across the river and you get more for your money slightly further out -- food and hotels. Not a good place for shopping, the night market was fairly dismal. Kampot is where to go to see wondeful natural sights, enjoy local cycling and the 'real' area, the pepper plantations, or to spring from to do a day trip to Kep.

I've been travelling to Cambodia regularly for nearly 20 years now but only in the last few have I discovered the delights of Kampot. It's a buzzing town with a much nicer atmosphere than the in-your-face brashness of (eg) Siem Reap.
Kampot has a thriving expat community and a smattering of tourists. A wide variety of Khmer and western bars, restaurants and accommodation. Take a walk round the Lotus Pond - a tranquil oasis close to the middle of town - stay until evening and the area transforms into a colourful spendour.
Kampot is a great choice for those looking for a relaxing town break in Cambodia.
A la Carte Breakfast was great. We stayed a couple of days and enjoyed great variety. On on night the hotel was fully booked, and we had a buffet style breakfast that was very adequate. We had lunch and dinner a couple of times as well and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and cocktails.
We had a connected room with a bathroom in between, with was great for our family.
Location is out of town for a bit, and I really think tag is an asset. Short tuk-tuk ride into town.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I had earlier booked a higher room via booking.com but decided to change rooms which they were willing to accommodate. The jungle room has a nice shower, and although it does not have a window, the glass overlooking the "jungle" provides enough lighting in.
Location - it was about 10-15 minut walk towards the riverside and a short tuktuk ride away.
Breakfast was good. Overall the stay was comfortable and Staff was nice.
The food and drink at Sabay Beach were exceptional and were some of the best cocktails and food during our two weeks in Cambodia. Even if you're not staying as a guest, go for the food, drinks and the beautiful view of the river where we watched a gorgeous sunset. Muoy and her colleagues really took care of us, remembered our names every day, organised trips and Tuk tuks into town when needed. This is a beautiful stay if you want a riverside experience.
Modern, comfortable and clean rooms with a brand new bathroom. The standard rooms have a smart TV with all entertainment included. The hotel even has a rooftop bar with lovely views over the city and river.
The hotel is placed perfectly, just off the busy downtown and the riverfront, such a quick walk to everything but still quiet.
The manager and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful.
Value for money is incredible.
An exceptional hotel and very nice staff, It's just a couple of metres from the Riverside...a new hotel with an elevator, clean spacious rooms with street balcony..top floor bar overlooking Kampot and the River is beautiful at night..food was lovely...very nice central location and you can hire scooters from the hotel...The Park Inn is a little gem and well priced...definitely will stay again
Had a great stay in this guest house, which is a hidden gem. Booked three nights initially, but kept extending. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is central, yet quiet. Moni is a fantastic host, always with a smile on her face. She's also running a small burger shop in town, so go check that out as well. Will definitely book here again when I'm returning to Kampot.
Changed our hotel to Hotel Old Cinema because we wanted to be in town. Glad we did because it was lovely! Super cute hotel with nice comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast and cocktails, and most of all the staff was so so nice. Pauline, Baz, Pov, and everyone else just made our stay so special. And the two cats at the hotel were very cute too!
It’s a cozy small boutique hotel. Not far from the town center. A nice walk along the river is all it takes to arrive.
The breakfast was great. The pool is a nice place to relax. Rooms are comfortable, restaurant very inviting as well.
The best of the stay is the staff! Kind, professional justa amazing team!
New and luxurious hotel in Kampot.
Place feels like a tranquil rainforest and the staff is helpful and friendly in any way.
The manager gave us a warm welcome and we would definitely come back here.
Rooms are large and the beds sleep lovely.
To the town center its only 5 minutes with a tuktuk.
There good reason enough to chose this hotel for staying, 5 stars reviewed. the quality and attention to detail would make this hotel special anywhere. if you are in Kampot, try it you won’t disappointed. what you see in photos you are completely the same. room, pool, restaurant are all great.
We arrived to Kampot only for 1 evening and the quality of the hotel was a very important point of the trip.
Hotel staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and big enough.
The superior room was large and had a nice city view. And the main thanks for the shower with stones :)
very new and clean hotel, extremely helpful and friendly staff, helped find and drove us to a bike rental across the river, breakfast above average, highly recommended if you don't intend to stay in the city center, which is within walking distance across a nearby bridge
The location was the best thing. Right in the Centre of town…not many hotels are as close as Vibola.
WiFi is very good and the room and bathroom are a good size.
And of course it has a swimming pool.
There’s a BBQ restaurant 2 doors down and a minimart next door.
The staff are friendly. They have noise policy: no music after 10pm. Normally, people would bring their own speaker to Kampot and play music until late. The policy help reducing the noise pollution a lot. I manage to get good sleep after 10pm.
Was a great stay here with my partner. The hotel is very beautiful, we loved the taste of cafe. The breakfast also great and dinner we also can order in advance. The hotel manager is really helpful and care about our stay.
Very good low cost hotel in very convenient location. Comfortable bed and bedding.
Desk for eating and working.
Helpful staff, nice family run place.
One of the owners kept giving me different fruit to try!
Best location in wonderful Kampot and hosts who have style by any means. Nice breakfast under the Jackfruit tree in the heart of town. Greu job done on colonial house. I would stay there again.
You get what you pay. This is no 4-star hotel, but a 2-star one or guesthouse. There is a quiet big pool in the middle, thats really nice.. Bed was good, no noise around!
Beautiful boutique hotel right in the center of Kampot. Wonderful warm welcome, felt at home. Uniquely decorated rooms, loved the historical touch and the Khmer influence
