Location was great - close to cultural sites and business (I was travelling for the latter). Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. I stayed with a colleague, with whom I had also stayed at another hotel nearby - which is the kind we would usually stay at, with a more corporate/conference feel. We both agreed KGH Patan was a lot better ;-)

I loved how quiet, clean and authentic this lovely guest house was, perfect for my first stay in Patan. My room had clearly been recently refurbished so it felt extra comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spotless. It took a while to get used to the low ceilings - tall people beware! The property is very close to the main attractions in Patan - perfect for popping back for a rest during the day.

Patan is very historic with a beautiful square with incredible buildings and temples. Also lots of eateries and places to drink, some wirh fantastic views over the square (we liked Drishya). Frequent festivals, saw an amazing procession on 1st night.
Nice shops selling souvenirs and far less hassle than in Thamel. Beautiful pond nearby. Exquisite night and day. Amazing Golden Temple nearby. Closes down early, places to eat mostly shut by 9pm. Foreign tourists are asked to pay to enter square in most of daylight hours even just to walk through, you can use side alleys to avoid this if you just want eg to go to taxi rank. One street is being dug up by the side of the square so yo sometimes taxis have a longer route round. Pathao and InDrive are 2 useful apps for travel.

It's one of my favorite destinations.
It's one of my favorite destinations. In this city, you don't even need to aim at "scenic sites." There are a lot of antient temples and charming sites randomly scattering in the street corners. It's not as heavily influenced by tourism as other areas in the region. People are very friendly.

I stayed for around 3 days; 1-2 days are adequate to explore the well-known historical sites of Patan (Patan Darbur Square, Patan Museum, the numerous temples), and are all in walking distance. Old Patan is rich in culture; the buildings are adorned with intricate Newari carvings, and the Darbur Square built 2000 years ago is still very much alive with activity. The Patan Museum, converted from an old palace, is also a must-see.
Patan is safe - I had asked the locals, and also generally felt safe on the streets. When it rains, some streets might get muddy/have some level of muddy water.

The main square and buildings are absolutely super.
The main square and buildings are absolutely super. Loved gazing at them. I would not say the price of the fee to Westerners is justified though. It's not really set up for Westerners as far as the food shops go. There is a few. But to many dirty food places. We're the hygiene incentive just does not exist. As far a bleach goes it does not cost that much to much. So there is no excuse for the level of filth I this day and age at a tourist place attraction of any kind. Patan fix up with the bleach

The apartment was steps away from the main (Durbar) square. Great view from the rooftop patio! Restaurant choices around the corner for every taste and budget. The museum is small but really worth seeing. Beautiful temples and, after the quake, much excellent repairs and restoration everywhere. Lots of little shops, places to dawdle. Good gold jewelry shops, coffee shops, groceries and everything else. Loved the atmosphere, even after being 'in love' with Bhaktapur in previous visits. Nice to spend 2 full days there. Info: Patan, like Bhaktapur, is a UNESCO site, so an entry fee is charged to walk around the main area and this includes the museum. Ask for special validation stamp if staying more than one day. Support what UNESCO is doing!!

Patan is one of my favourite places to explore.
Patan is one of my favourite places to explore. Around every corner is another historical building, temple, shrine etc..
You can spend hours getting lost down the narrow streets. I highly recommend visiting. Especially the Durbar Square and restaurants nearby for a great view.
The place is as shown in the photos by the host also really really close to patan Durbarsquare. The bedroom ,kitchen and the lounge is very cozy plus the couch is super cute cozy and vibrant. Bathroom could be better but its good nonetheless. The bedrooms are provided with AC but not the lounge . There were microwave fridge oven stove and washing machine along with the required utensils ,you’ll have no trouble cooking. We had an amazing time and the host was super nice and welcoming
I stayed for 4 weeks from Jan-Feb while working in Patan Hospital. Shailendra was a fabulous host! Tajaa Pha felt like a home away from home. Shailendra even helped to arrange transportation for traveling I did within the Kathmandu Valley. The central location in Pimbahal is very convenient and close to both cultural sites like Patan Durbar Square and many restaurant options. Hot water was plentiful. Electric blankets available for chilly evenings. I highly recommend staying here!
Wonderful homestay with simple, but very clean rooms, lovely common area and amazing views over the Durbar square. The most wonderful part about the stay is the friendly family who has opened up their home of many generations and who are happy to share with you the real life of Patan today and decades ago. I truly enjoyed the stay and reccommend it to anyone who is looking for something different from regular hotels and is curious about the local way of life.
Location was nice & quiet, off the main street. A few drivers had difficulty finding exact location, but once you have a hotel business card, that helps. Food & staff were great! Everything tasted fresh and the staff is exceptional. Rooms were small, but cozy & comfortable. Windows were tighter and less drafty than many Nepali hotels. Great location for meeting colleagues over fantastic meals or just coffee & pastries.
The hotel itself is great with its traditional style and cleanliness. What impressed me the most is the owner and staff. They are so kind to welcome me with bamboo soup and snack and even guide me to many places without asking. The location is so good too, near the Durban Square and many good places. I highly recommend. This is one of the best hotels in Patan.
Patán is amazing and this hotel really authentic, is a house with 500 years, with incredible confortable beds, you don't hear any noise and is in front of the Golden Temple and Durban Square. Patan Is an incredible place, much more than Kadmandu, i really recomended visit Patán for one por two days and i really recomended Hira Guest House.
Excellent location. The breakfast was superb and the staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood has many restaurants that are walkable. The famous Patan Square is also walkable. Unfortunately, the pool was closed at the time we stayed at the hotel but the rooftop restaurant and bar was very very nice.
When i walked in that apartment i was shocked on how clean, organized and everything was available to my needs , the fridge was clean and usable, drinking water and gas were available as well the bathroom was clean all around it was a 10/10 . Anytime i will be staying in patan i will be choosing this place.
I lived there for more than a week, so have tried three rooms of the hotel. Every room is different in layout and size. So whether the room is good or very good depends on one’s fate. The bigger room is very nice and has a very good bathroom. Other rooms’ bathrooms are relatively old or left in disrepair.
The rooms were extremely comfortable and the setting in Patan near Durbar Square was very peaceful. (It also made it simple to walk 3 minutes to find a taxi!) My family loved the breakfasts as well. This is one of our favorite places we've ever booked on Booking.com
We loved our stay here! It was a nice stay in the Patan Square area. They worked with our schedule, comfortable beds, warm showers, nice rooftop terrace, quality breakfast. We enjoyed getting to know the staff and they were always attentive to our needs :)
Magnificent guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood 5 minute walk from Patan Durbar Square. Ravi has created a great atmosphere with quality materials and an eye for design and finishing. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Highly recommended.
Karuna Hotel is excellent place to stay as a solo traveler as well as a family. Facilities are are best and staff is super excellent 🧡
Thank you Hotel Staff to taking care of me for 7 days!!
Highly recommend 🧡🧡
Very central location to food, patan durbar square, etc. Access to a gorgeous rooftop. The host, shailendra, was very welcoming and helped to arrange touring activities for us.
Absolutely stunning building in the heart of Patan old town. Friendly staff, incredible room, beautiful shared courtyard for breakfast, dinner, drinks etc
