Room was good. Location was excellent as we were catching train and was within walking distance. However (not hotel’s fault re homeless people), the homeless situation and the campus rally was a bit unnerving.

Location is safe and central. If you need to stay downtown the hotel is well placed. Staff were friendly. The library is really nice with the fireplace. Deco of the rooms is also quite nice although a bit worn out already in our room.

We enjoyed exploring the west side of Portland from Park Lane Suites where we stayed. NW 23rd and NW 21st are fun streets with great shops and restaurants. The old neighborhoods are fun to walk through, admiring the historic houses and beautiful gardens. (May is a great time to see all the blooming rhododendrons!)
We enjoyed Papa Haydn's on NW 23rd. We also had a fun evening at Old Town Pizza. We first took their Shanghai Underground Tour complete with beer tasting and then enjoyed their pizza!
West Portland is full of great hiking trails in Washington Park, Hoyt Arboretum, and Forest Park.

The best thing about Portland are the family members who live there; they are the reason for our visit.
We do enjoy going to many sites in Portland including the various gardens: Rose Garden, Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, Pennisula Garden, Rhodendron Garden, and just walking around neighborhoods seeing the beautiful trees and plants. Powell's Bookstore is a must. We went to a Thorn's (women's Pro soccer team) game. It was exciting. There are many good food options in Portland. We like the zoo and of course there are many sites nearby to visit including a plethora of "falls" like Multinoma and Bridal Veil.
The beauty of the city is blighted by homeless camps which lead to much litter, etc.

Portland, you're a breath of fresh air, reminiscent of my beloved Calgary with your mellow pace of life. Yet, you offer a gentle winter, free from the icy grip that defines our seasons. Your embrace of the LGBTQ community and the effortless kindness of your residents have been a revelation, challenging the media's portrayal with a beautiful reality. A heartfelt shoutout to Moxy Portland Downtown for their uniquely fabulous vibe and warm hospitality. You've been the highlight of our journey. As we conclude our road trip across the US Pacific Northwest, it's clear—Portland, you're the perfect finale. 🌲✨

We enjoyed the area around our hotel, very much.
We enjoyed the area around our hotel, very much. It was the Northwest section of Portland. It was by Old Town and by China Town. It was also close to the waterway path, along the River. It felt safe. It felt up-lifting.

Enjoyed the nature and greenery.
Enjoyed the nature and greenery. Went to Providence Park for Timbers soccer match and would highly recommend. I liked Washington Park with the Japanese Gardens and Rose Test Gardens. Liked walking around Powell's Books. Really enjoyed walking around NW District neighborhood, and eating at Sweet Bacon Cafe and Scottie's Pizza Parlor. Recommend staying at Inn at Northrup Station in NW District or the Tiny Digs Hotels in Kerns neighborhood in East Portland. Enjoyed Screen Door restaurant at East Portland. Trail Blazers Basketball game at Moda Center was fine.
There is a lot of homeless and possible drug use around downtown Pearl District. Never felt threatened or in danger but definitely need to be cautious.
A lovely hotel, in the heart of the Pearl District and within a short walk of Union Station or the tram line to get to/from the airport. Clean and modern, with a great swimming pool, especially for kids, and a terrific roof top terrace to chill out on at the end of the day. Breakfast was good and there was coffee available 24/7 in the reception area. A big shout out to Jake at the reception desk who was so helpful, giving us great tips for where to go (and not to go!) in Portland and the surrounding area - a real credit to the hotel.
The friendly staff greets you and a clean modern lobby is a nice start. The room is small but well acquainted. The beds are very comfortable as are the sheets pillows and fluffy throw. I like that it had a microwave and a mini fridge and I left watching The MAX train go by outside.
It's right across the street from the convention center, so if you have any plans at the convention center it's a perfect hotel to stay at. The view of downtown Portland is also wonderful to see from their rooftop restaurant and bar.
We had a great multi-night stay at Zags as a family with two teenagers & a dog. Had fun in the game room one night playing pool, shuffleboard, darts & more. Loved the equipment locker with guitars, ukuleles, skateboards & more. My son and I took advantage of the 24 Hour Fitness affiliation and went to the across town club (rather than the one close by) to use their basketball court. Downtown Portland is very walkable, and the hotel allows easy access by foot to everything the Rose City has to offer.
Perfect location to explore Portland. Three of us stayed in one of their suites and we had plenty of space for everyone. Having a kitchenette was a huge bonus for us with Trader Joe's and a couple of other grocery stores near by which allowed us to prepare breakfast at the hotel. Another big bonus is the free parking as we rented a car and didn't have to worry about paying for parking. Overall this is the best deal you can get in Portland for the money.
the hotel in a great location for us (close to Powell's books) and is immaculately clean, quiet and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. We were happy to see that this area of downtown Portland was still enjoyable after all the recent difficulties the city has had. We enjoyed the food at Cheryl's on 12th which the Mark Spencer has a relationship with for room service (we ate in the restaurant rather than using room service however)
Friendly, helpful, and knowledge staff. Easy freeway access, only a few min drive to downtown, Pearl District, and Old Town. Free coffee all day. Free and ample parking, dog friendly. Indoor slippers, bench for luggage/putting on shoes, and black makeup towels are a nice touch. Deluxe King room is bigger than the picture shows and has a nicely equipped kitchen with a full size fridge. Sound proofing between rooms is better than expected.
This is a nice, basic place in a very convenient location downtown, close to the waterfront, shops and restaurants, and public transport. My room provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay, all appliances worked well, and the staff was terrific. The tram went right by my window, which was a bit noisy, but it didn't affect me too much overall. I would happily stay here again on a future visit to Portland.
With the heatwave our plan to have the dog sleep in the car went out the window. The hotel recognized the exceptional circumstances and allowed us to have her in the room even though they normally don't allow pets. They have great common areas, especially the roof area which has great views of downtown Portland. Wish we had more time to enjoy it. This will be on my list for next trip up to Portland.
Hotel Dossier is conveniently located in downtown Portland within walking distance to shops etc. The staff at the front desk, especially a guy (sorry forgot to ask his name) has been extremely helpful in checking in, modifying reservations, etc. The room is quite spacious and the bed is comfortable. Highly recommended and I've already booked here for my next visit.
The location in downtown Portland was great.
Lockers in the shared room were large enough to accommodate my carry on suitcase and backpack.
After checking out I was able to leave my things in storage for the day and pick them later that day.
Hostel provides you with a lock and key for your locker and towel for showering.
Shared bathrooms were spotless.
I love Hoxton hotels. The rooms in the Portland branch are well designed and comfy (I stayed in the cheap and cheerful shoebox room - plenty of space for a solo traveller to lay out their suitcase & rest their head). There are lots of public transport options within a short walk & the Hoxton reception staff were helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed this little place in downtown. Felt safe there, it was clean and kitchen had decent dishes and utensils. Location was great and checkin in nearby hotel wasn't issue at all. All went well despite late checkin and early check out. Thank you, would stay again.
I love that the hotel is very close to downtown Portland but far enough away that it quiet and peaceful. The view of the river is very nice also and the river walk right next to the hotel is a nice bonus.
I loved how clean the hotel was and how professional/ kind the staff were! Great location in the heart of downtown Portland within walking distance of a lot of very cool things. Definitely worth the trip
Location, Staff, and the overall feel in the hotel. Love the Downtown Portland Vibe, and was pleased with the facilities and how we were treated as a whole. Way to go.
Nice, stylish hotel in a good downtown location just a short walk from multiple transport options, including the MAX Red Line from the airport. Really friendly staff.
