Breakfast was the same every day. We had the buffet breakfast but this did not include waffles or an omelette as this was an extra charge. So we wouldn’t have breakfast at the hotel another time.
This hotel is 4 miles north of the Capital Beltway and 11 miles from the United States Naval Observatory. It offers free parking and self-catering rooms with a fully-equipped kitchen.

This was one of the BEST hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. There was plenty of room, a room divider, plenty of places to hang clothes, towels, etc. The room was clean and well- maintained,
It was great to have the kitchenette in the room. Free coffee and apples are always available in the lobby 👍
Set in Washington, 500 metres from Phillips Collection, Generator Hotel Washington DC offers accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, private parking, a fitness centre and a garden.
This hotel was fine. It met expectations and breakfast was good. The only frustration is that the hotel does not have enough parking for their guests. However, there is parking right next to the hotel. I think not offering free parking for hotel guests is a little bit cheap. The rooms are too expensive to not offer free parking.

Bad location. Run down hotel. Paper thin walls.
Bad location. Run down hotel. Paper thin walls. Front desk manager lady rude. Parking was unacceptable. Checked out early and never got points, refund or receipt. Felt unsafe both in and outside of hotel. This property is not the quality of any of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. It's like IHG bought a Motel 6 and put their logo on it.

We stayed at Silver Spring as a base for visiting Washington DC, trying to avoid paying $400/night or something crazy like that which you would pay for a more central location.
The metro station is nearby, which is helpful - but factor in a $3.80 fare each way to downtown DC.
The area has many restaurants and cafes, none of which are very high end. There is a Whole Foods and another supermarket.
The overall feel is ok - it doesn't feel too safe to be with a young family walking around in the evening.
Overall it is ok, but not really a place for spending a lot of time.

Location was great. Room was terrible!
Location was great. Room was terrible! Mildew smell, had to go purchase air freshener just to stay in the room. Carpet was nasty, heat wasn’t working purchased extra blankets for comfort. Complained to front desk and was told to contact who ever I booked the room with (Booking.com) to complain. Also was told that the Hotel was old and the owners need to upgrade. Would tell anyone that wants to book here not too… the pictures LIE !!

I am only in Silver Spring because I can get neurological therapy here that is not available elsewhere. If it weren't for that, I would not be visiting Silver Spring. Since my therapy may continue for a few months I will hopefully be able to stay here. I can't rate Silver Spring other than that because I did no sight-seeing or touring.

Very convenient place to go downtown DC.
Very convenient place to go downtown DC. Good people, good environment. I made it a rule to walk back and forth between the apartment and Silver Spring station because it was so comfortable taking a walk every day.
Breakfast was fine and well balanced, although its daily sameness had become rather boring over the course of a 2-week stay. Location next to the beltway was also convenient to reach the people and places we had come to visit. Most positive was the friendliness and helpfulness of the housekeeping staff, despite the limits on cleaning services now introduced by most hotels. The room itself was comfortable, and the in-room refrigerator, microwave, and utensils were lifesavers under the circumstances (see below).
Although the hotel had my confirmation for a room, it wasn’t listed as needing a room with wheelchair access. The person at the desk, who was a new employee, took time to find us a room and told us that if there was any issue to make sure to let him know and he would resolve it. Great customer service!
Cozy place, 2 nice bedrooms quiet most of the day. Total quiet after 10 pm. Close to Wheaton and Silver Spring. Coffee maker can make a pot of coffee or pod (Bring your own). Roku tv service. Bedroom had outlet near the bed (needed for a cpap). I loved the shower. Neighborhood seem quiet, also.
Room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The hallways a common areas were clean and the ice machine worked (you will be surprised how many hotels don’t have working ice machines). I appreciated the fully stocked market in the hotel and the breakfast was delicious and affordable.
The CONVENIENCE and ACCESSIBILITY of this hotel is amazing the shops, restaurants, pharmacy and the little mall is literally a few steps away. The bus stop is right at the door step and the room prices reasonable. The valet parking is great and convenient about $30 a day.
I love this hotel, esp. the workout facilities. But they've been renovating FORever, so still a mess inside. But nice staff and helpful longtime security person. I've stayed here for years and will continue to go there, just can't wait for the renovations to finish.
The beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning was the best of all the hotels I have stayed in. Thats a big plus for me. The breakfast was ok but the sausage links were very spicy with the egg omelets gummy .
The Marriott Courtyard is well situated if you are staying in Silver Spring, there are shops and restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable and clean and the lobby area had plenty of space for sitting and gathering.
The peace and quiet, the ability to make my own meals and not eat out, the comfort. I don't like noisy hotel rooms; I don't want or need room service; I prefer being out of the inner city traffic and hubbub.
The hotel, lobby, and room were immaculate! The staff was friendly and very helpful during our stay. No matter what time of day or night, the front desk was awake and smiling, ready to assist.
Nothing. This stay was a nightmare. I totally got ripped off. I wasn’t told this property changed from a Doubletree by Hilton to a low budget hotel with rats and mice.
Close to Silver City downtown and metro station. The room was recently renovated and very clean and comfortable. Best pillows ever had in any hotels across the globe.
Nothing was there to like checked out 15 minutes after I saw the deplorable state of the hotel and room. Had to book another hotel on spot. This cost me a lot.
