We loved the view over the roof tops and the partial sea view. The staff were exceptionally friendly and indulged my attempts at Greek for which many thanks! The breakfast was pretty good. We are vegan and it can be hard to cater for us but we didn't go hungry, and we provided our own plant milk. The hotel is very central but also quiet. A wonderful place to stay.

Sitia isn't of itself pretty, but the region that surrounds it is full of treasures from Minoan sites and geological wonders through to highly trekkable gorges and ravishing views. A car is essential and exploring is well worthwhile for the smiles per mile.

Sitia is a small town, not very touristy as it's so far east. You need a car to get to Sitia and it's not an easy drive. However, it's definitely worthwhile making the effort to get there as it's a lovely town with a great beach . There are lots of excellent restaurants overlooking the sea.

If you're looking for a not too touristic, rather quiet place (of course, worth the compulsory beach bars and restaurants area), not too expensive but still nice and with friendly locals, that's your place.
Not much to see/ visit in the city itself (not to say nothing at all) and also not the side of the island with a lot of stuff but I bet if you rent a car and go to Agios Nicolaos or the villages around you'll have a great time. Some stunning views on the way too!

I cannot tell if Sitia beach is good or bad, but on the eastern side of the island 20-30 km-s away there are fantastic beaches for sure.
The view of the town from the east is wonderful.
The stairs inside the town, with cats on them are charming.
The people are kind.
I could rent a car cheap, and travel around. I have seen nice places, for example the Toplou monastery...

Cute city, lovely beaches.
Cute city, lovely beaches. Kalamia beach had great vibes, music, best Greek yogurt.
Very very very steep and narrow roads. If you're not proficient with stick shift, get automatic or don't drive. Very scary to drive.
Otherwise if you are good with walked, great Greek village. Lots of nice restaurants.
Simple.
What a way to start our trip with such a great stay. This was by far the best hotel in Sitia. Its location to the town center was perfect; a 5 minute walk and you're in the historical town. We loved the size of our room; comfortable bed and huge balcony. The facilities are amazing; huge pools and plenty of beds. There is a private beach for visitors of the hotel which was also nice. We were amazed by the selection of food and the variety with the all inclusive rate. Everything we ate was delicious!
Excellent apartment. Everything we needed. Coffee Pot, Fridge, Toaster, Washer, TV, Hairdryer, Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom. Unbelievable views from the bedroom! Perfect location above all restaurants on the water. Parking was great! If and when we return to Sitia we hope this apartment will still be available! We had a vehicle however everything we needed after returning from our day of exploring was in walking distance! Even a mini market across the street!
Fantastic location and incredible service.
Far enough to be quiet but a nice stroll away from Sitia harbour.
The flat was impeccable, spacious with great beds, terrace overlooking the city and the sea, fully equipped kitchen etc...
Elma and her team were more than helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Couldn't ask for more.
If you need a great spot to be able to do day drips in the far est of Crête, stay here !
A newly renovated small building. Excellent taste in design and wonderful touches throughout the room and the building. The owner is on site and is brilliant, engaging and very friendly and accommodating.
We enjoyed speaking with her while we were eating breakfast. We loved chatting about the area, her family and the renovation of the building.
I absolutely recommend this as THE place to stay while visiting Sitia.
Excellent hospitality! The house was great!! Very big and very clean, ideal for family and friends. The location was excellent, very close to Sitia and the very nice beaches of this part. Mrs Foteini and her family were the absolute hostesses. They brought us fresh fruits and traditional raki and their wine :) ah! Also delicious kalitsounia. In general everything was perfect! Definitely we will go again!
We enjoyed staying at Porto Kaza. The hotel is very cozy and the hosts are very nice and hospitable. We had a spacios studio with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is well equiped and you can enjoy breakfest inside or outside on the balcony. The pool was great. The hotel is close to tavernas. Eastern Crete is very beautiful. We loved Vai beach, Paleokastro village, Erminoupoli beach, Xerocampos beach.

We are vegan and it can be hard to cater for us but we didn't go hungry, and we provided our own plant milk. The hotel is very central but also quiet. A wonderful place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay in Sitia. The apartment is clean and indeed really cozy. We felt really comfortable. The host helped us with everything and responded really fast. There were even some delicious snacks prepared when we arrived. Street parking was no problem for us (end of February) but be aware of all the small one-way streets in Sitia.
Lovely renovated stone house with a wonderful view. We enjoyed our stay very much. From fresh oil to raki, everything was in the house. We loved to have our breakfast at the terrace before starting to explore the east of Crete. A very good place to discover Sitia, Vai and the mountains. Thanks to Manos and his lovely family. They are so kind!
Dimitra greeted us on arrival. Easy to find and walkable to the center of Sitia. Car parking spot. Spotlessly clean with hot water and beautiful clean sheets. Excellent value and a lovely garden space to walk through. An easy walk to the sea, no more than 100mts. Recommended.
Spacious, clean, excellent location that is just enough off beaten path. Safe for running and 1 mile walk to town so
You can burn off the amazing food on the lovely harbor in the town
Pleasant old style Greek hotel, clean, comfortable, friendly. There is a drying rack provided on room balconies. The front desk staff were particularly helpful.
Very well equiped and designed house.
Totally lives up to all the photos and description.
Really enjoyed our stay and would go back when next in Crete.
