An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain is a favourite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

Some of our favorite destinations were Stanley park, Capilano Suspension bridge, and grouse mountain. We also enjoyed walking around downtown, taking the ferry to Granville island and Kitsilano Beach and the maritime museum, and checking out a variety of food options.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Vancouver is a big city with lots to do, my stay was unexpected and only 1 night but still managed to get a lot in. We took bikes from our hotel and rode around Stanley Park, it is user friendly and picturesque. If you do anything like that bring a beach towel to sit on the beach at the end in English Bay and take in the surroundings, it is a beautiful city.

We spent 4 days here and visited Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge and Granville Island ( the rain came down on us ). Shopped at Robson St and lunched there. We booked a hop on - hop off for a day and visited Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park, Granville Island, it.s worth the price.

Great walking city or bike if hills are no problem for you as there are bike lanes. Readily available bus, skytrain or taxi options. Coffee shops galore and several restaurant options from $ to $$$ depending on your desire to taste local fare or pick a franchise eatery.

Easy city to get around, the Hop On Hop Off takes you to all the beautiful sites, like Canada Place where you can see all the cruise ships and then walk over to Gastown and see the steam clock. The front desk staff and valet staff are so helpful and even brought my skip the dishes to my room when I didn't feel well. Oh and the best shopping and dining is right outside your door! Forage is SO GOOD!
