The hostess was very friendly. It's only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Ullapool to the pubs, shops and ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides.
Perfect place in May before the midgies are out and about.
Perfect place in May before the midgies are out and about. There are plenty places to eat but early booking is needed if you are not to be left with awkward times. Within easy distances of some spectacular scenery - atmospheric in the mist or beautiful in the sun.

Great little spot with good vibes.
Great little spot with good vibes. The town itself is small but the whole area had a buzz about it. The scenery is amazing. I would definitely visit again. It helped that it was 27 degrees and the sun was shining.

Ullapool is on the route of the famous Route NC500.
Ullapool is on the route of the famous Route NC500. It's the perfect one night stop on the route. Ullapool is quaint, small, full of gift shops and the stunning "seaford" restaurant where I can highly recommend their fish and chips! Lovely little town - easy to walk around, you don't need to stay longer than the one night stop as the adventure of the NC500 continues!

Ullapool was cute and the views over the water special. Interesting watching the ferries leave and come in from the islands. We were very lucky when we were there as the sun was shining and it was warm.

Our first time in Ullapool, but it won't be the last time...
Our first time in Ullapool, but it won't be the last time there and we will definitely stay at "The Wreck" or "The Ruin" on our next trip. The location is right beside the Sea Loch about 1-mile north of Ullapool on the A835 (probably walkable in the longer daylight). On our first night into Ullapool we came across a great "dog friendly" pub/restaurant called The Ceilidh and we liked the place and the friendly staff and a good menu - we ate there each evening.
The houses in Ullapool are laid out in a fishing village style and east to get around ... hunting down the Tesco Food Store was a challenge So i had to use Google Maps (lol).
Sadly, visiting Ullapool in Late February means that many place are closed but there was enough to occupy us, and of course plenty to do in and around the area:
* Ullapool Hill
* The Bothy Cafe every morning (you can sit in too)
* The Ceilidh Pub each night
* Northerly road trips to:
- Scourie Bay
- Balnakeil Bay
- Durness
- Smoo Caves
* Southern and Western road trips to:
- Applecross
- Corrieshalloch Gorge (is a must do)

Ullapool surprised us, it was not as big as we expected but,...
Ullapool surprised us, it was not as big as we expected but, that is not a negative, it is a beautiful little town. We had the best fish and chips from a take away. We bought books in a lovely book store near the hotel. The people are lovely and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there in a beautiful hotel.
The single room was good value at £50. The room had a nice big window, a kettle, storage space and a decent ensuite with a shower that worked well. Everything was perfectly clean too. Obviously the location in central Ullapool is wonderful, and the bar is a nice place to sit with a whisky and watch the world go by out of the large bay windows. The staff were friendly and helpful too, even offering to provide me a take-away breakfast for 6:30am.
This is a small town center hotel in Ullapool ideally placed for exploring the area. Facilities are what you would expect from a small hotel but the highlight for me was a shower that was hot and strong. The room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast options were varied with the traditional breakfast front and center.
We had dinner at the hotel two nights in a row - options were OK and well cooked.
Cant beat the view from the front door.
Lovely location at end of Ullapool Main Street with beautiful views across the water to the mountains. Fantastic vegan options for dinner in restaurant with view (book a table!). Bedroom was reasonable size with shower that was ok. Hotel kindly provided fan to help keep us cool. USB sockets in room were a bonus. Good thickness curtains kept the room dark for sleeping. Friendly staff topped the experience.
Very friendly staff and allowed me to store my luggage before check-in and after check-out. I last stayed here 15 years ago and it wasn't as nice as it is now. Although there are bunk beds, the mattresses were comfortable. It is the most reasonable in terms of nightly rates to stay in Ullapool now, especially most of the other hotels and B&Bs have put their rates up to about 110%.
Lovely hotel with rooms overlooking the water. Rooms are small but still lovely with everything you need. We arrived early on a motor bike and the owners were so helpful allowing us to leave our bike gear and get changed so we could explore Ullapool. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Lovely large lounge so you can enjoy the views. Would definitely recommend.
Hotel perfectly located just off A835. Great views over Ullapool . A warm friendly welcome and my request for sunshine was granted and the additional request to see an Eagle was granted at 06.50 the following morning ! The breakfast was excellent quality and the choices were top rate making this a top quality hotel and warrants a repeat visit for sure.
First, a very sweet dog greeted us, then a very personable host (Jamie) drove up, and then we walked into our room. The very next thing was to contact our next hotel to see if we could change our reservation and stay longer at Croft 17. And the bathroom was the sixth and nicest so far on our trip. The room was large and contained everything we wanted.
The location was okay, with a 15 minute walk into Ullapool. Ullapool itself was rather uninviting, perhaps due to roadworks on the main road, very overpriced e.g £19.99 for fish and chips.
The hotel was very clean and the duvet was particularly soft and comfortable. There was lots of choices of teas and coffees in the room and welcome treats.
The breakfast offering was exceptional with a cold buffet in addition to a choice of cooked breakfasts.
The staff were all very pleasant to deal with, attentive and professional. All contributed to a positive impression of the hotel.
Harbour house is ideal for walking into Ullapool. Lovely views of Loch Broom. The room was clean and comfortable as was the communal lounge area. Breakfast was plentiful and served to order. Staff were polite and helpful.
A friendly, clean, cosy and well-located hotel serving a hearty breakfast. The harbour is just down the road (I also recommend the excellent fish 'n' chip shop), Would definitely book again if I return to Ullapool.
The hotel was very dog friendly and the staff very welcoming. They even set up a table for us so that our dog could come to breakfast with us. The food was very good and our room very comfortable,
The view from the hotel was just idilic - over Loch Broom with a mountainous backdrop.
The rooms were comfortable and did was delicious. We really appreciated that they were dog friendly too.
The property was as described in all the reviews. Quiet street, easy parking, private, close to everything in Ullapool, comfortable. No contact with the host, none needed.
