We booked the St Vincent Guest House only two days before visiting as a last-minute break for one night with my wife and our dog. We hadn't looked at other reviews, so we arrived with an open mind. We actually arrived early, but the hosts were very accommodating and made us tea/coffee while we waited a few minutes for the room to be ready.
The garden out front is very pretty and dog-friendly, with a gated entrance and secure perimeter. The room was very nice with a four-poster bed. The mattress was very comfy, and the room was clean and welcoming with an en-suite.
The hosts gave lots of advice about where to eat that evening and also advice on a walk that we were going to undertake. We ate at the local Crown Inn and returned to the St Vincent Guest House early as we were tired from the walk. We both slept extremely well and woke early.
Breakfast was very good with choices of cereal, fruit compote, fresh juice, tea/coffee, etc., and a fully cooked breakfast catering for vegetarian/vegan, etc. They also asked if we wanted a sausage for the dog, which he was very pleased about. The hosts also talked about some of the history of the building, which was fascinating.
I'd definitely return and have already recommended the place to friends and family.

We must first compliment Rebecca, who was the perfect host and made us feel right at home.
The hotel itself is a stunning old building perfectly located for experiencing the cliff railway, a gentle stroll into Lynton village, or an exhilarating ramble down to Lynmouth.
Room 11 had everything we needed, including a smart TV, fast WiFi, a comfortable double bed, tea, coffee, biscuits, and a spotlessly clean bathroom with modern fixtures.
The room's best feature was the stunning sea views from both the bedroom and bathroom.
Although we didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, we did enjoy a fabulous breakfast before checkout.
Massive thanks to entire team! We'll definitely be staying with you again next time we find ourselves in the area!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view.
Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly.
We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Good location for the many walks near by.
Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

We really enjoyed Lynton.
We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area.
Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again.
Really nice walk!
This is a beautiful property in a quiet location near the entrance to the Valley of Rocks. We had traveled to Devon for a walking weekend and this suited us perfectly, and was only a 5 minute stroll to the town center. Be warned though, walking down to Lynmouth from Lynton, is not to be taken lightly.
The hosts, Chris and Lesley are friendly, helpful and couldn't be faulted. The rooms clean with lovely Egyptian cotton sheets.
Chris cooks a great breakfast with good choices. Fresh flowers everywhere!!!
Wow you don't find places like this very often. Immaculate 5 star service from start to finish and the most comprehensive breakfast choice I have ever had the pleasure of choosing from. A very imposing three story house in a prime position with commanding views over the Lynton and the coast beyond. The bed and mattress were heavenly. Robert worked really hard at all times to make the stay a comfortable and safe one. Thank you very much indeed.
The hotel was beautiful and spacious, lovely furnishings. The view across the bay from all of the rooms was fantastic. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and evening meals we had were excellent. The hotel was in eyesight of the funicular down to Lynmouth. walk from the hotel to valley of rocks had fantastic views.
The hosts were super welcoming and accommodating. As a solo traveller, the guest house felt really homely and was perfectly located to explore North Devon. Parking was easy enough - if nothing directly outside of the property, the car park across the street is free in the evening after 6pm through until 10am.
Ideal location, very comfortable room and a breakfast to relish.
Carol and Jos, made us feel very welcome and were very helpful and really good to chat with.
We will hopefully revisit Lynton and Lynmouth at some point, and Turret House.
We'll recommend to family and friends.
great breakfast, beautiful location with sea views, run by same family for many years who are very welcoming. The property has some very nice period features and feels cosy, it is not a modern up to date hotel which we like. Plenty parking which is useful in Lynton.
We have stayed many times in Lynton, a favourite area for us.
Staff at The Crown were friendly & courteous, with a perfect location for exploring North Devon and spending time in delightful Lynton & Lynmouth. Food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal.
Chris and Lesley model hosts. Very welcoming and attentive to our every need. Room was spotlessly clean. The property is nestled towards the end of a very quiet lane and perfectly situated for exploring the N. Devon coast.
The location is brilliant to base for lynton lynmouth area an easy walk into lynton and the surrounding areas and the SW coast path Aa RR d5 fantastic room to stay in we stayed in room 3 with the balcony it was awesome.
We loved the location.a short walk along a tarmacked path into Lynton and for the intrepid a few steps from a great walk to Watersmeet. An absolute Gem National trust T Room on the river to break the round trip.
The property was fabulous, clean fresh spacious and everything you could need or want. Great location to explore lynton lynmouth or the rest of Devon. Couldn’t have been happier! Even had a parking space!
Location ideal for access to Lynton and Lynmouth.
Fabulous coastal and countryside walking and an easily accessible safe beach.
