Good location for the breakfast and the quality of the food was mixed (My wife thought her's was excellent but mine was mised ). The service was good but the one staff member serving ( believed to be the owner ) was inexperienced and clearly stretched but was friendly and as efficient.

Set in beautiful grounds BUT spread out so be prepared to walk, you have to park in the designated area then walk to reception and then to your accommodation with your bags. Our room was extremely hot and we had to keep a fan going all night as well as the curtains open which meant a security light shining in! I slept poorly and my husband not at all. We met someone in the car park after checking out, who had booked a room with air con - if I’d known I’d have requested a move. The weather was in the low 20s so warm but certainly not hot.
Incredibly location. Hinxton is so beautiful. A real gem. The Red Lion is such a beautiful old pub, so much character. The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. The pie of the day was simply outstanding.
I can’t wait to visit again.
Check in was straightforward. Staff were really friendly. I was shown to my room which was lovely and warm and clean.
Overall, a lovely place to stay and I would recommend The Red Lion at Hinxton whether it be for work or pleasure.
Hinxton is a very pretty village and worth exploring. The pub was very cosy, with delicious food but small portions. The range of real ale was quite limited, but tasty. I liked the pub and staff.
Would definitely like to go back to Hinxton, a beautiful location and great place to stay with my dogs.Etremely clean and comfortable, also very good value for money. Highly recommend
