The location was chosen due to our planned visit to Chatsworth and Bakewell. The location was more quiet than expected considering it was main school holiday season. A bonus for us but maybe not business.

Nice popular village with lots of walks in the area and a few you can do right from your door.
It also has 2 good pubs both of which do nice food (booking very muchrecommended). The village shop is excellent and seems to sell almost anything you could need.
The baps (I'd call them cobs being from Leics) are particularly nice and good value.

Very pleasant small village, perhaps a bit "touristy", but not surprising considering its location. Small and very easy to walk round. Free street parking in centre, but I think there is a pay parking area. Two pubs/hotels. We avoided the Charles Cotton due to our experience on a previous visit. Enjoyed the other one, but can't remember its name. Pleasant small cafe, which is also local Post Office - lovely ice cream!! Well-stocked village shop.

A quaint little village, lovely tea rooms, shops and Yha Hartington Hall. The Devonshire Arms pub is full of character and has a great atmosphere with superb food.
Very scenic with lots of great walks. Go to Fiveways country store. Super shop with great, friendly owners.
Beautiful homestead setting that backs onto an active farm. The shared kitchen and dining was kept immaculate and faces a barn where you can hear the cows in the evening! Location is perfect for exploring The Peak District. Staff were all wonderful and helpful. Hot shower pressure was amazing and so welcome at the end of a day of walking/biking! Would 100% stay again. Wifi was weak at times, but was quite nice to disconnect and enjoy the surroundings.
this was a fleeting visit for us, arriving late and leaving early. Kieran and the team kept us very well informed about how to access the hotel and room. They also provided options to eat/drink late as they stop serving food at 3pm and drinks at 5pm on Sundays.
The hotel was very clean and decorated with a warm and homely feel.
coffee and tea facilities in the room are perfect with a Tassimo and plenty of choice.
We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.
Lovely rooms, clean and comfy. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Evening meal menu had a good choice and the food was very good, don't miss the Lemon Meringue Sundae!
Also had a lockable shed to store our bikes in which was very useful and it is easy to accesss the High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail from the pub. Within easy reach of Hartington and Buxton.
The location was by far the best part of staying here. Being in the middle of the Peak District was great for going walks and the nearby village of Hartington was lovely. The Manor House that the hostel is actually in is stunning. The rooms are very simple but you get what you pay for. It was great waking up to sheep and chickens outside our window.
Location was superb, easy reach of everything, walks from the door, pretty village, quiet with a good pub. Cottage is one of the best with a superb & caring host, who goes above & beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Dog friendly, excellent in every way, & can't wait to go back.
The location was excellent for the reason for our stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we ate in the hotel restaurant, there was a good choice and food was excellent. The breakfast was a bonus because we were not expecting to have any, the sausage was particularly tasty. All and all a great stay.
Self catering. Well equipped and very comfortable. Beautiful views. I have stayed in a good few Hotels, B&Bs, and holiday lets and have never had beds, duvets and pillows as comfortable as Raikes Barn, Congratulations. There is a fantastic gift shop in the village which is also very good value.
The location of Manifold at Hartington Courtyard was central to the village. Easy private parking next to the unit. It was nice to have laundry facilities in the room next door. The amenities of the cottage were nice and the write-up about the hikes and history of the area were wonderful.
Excellent location and friendly staff. The rooms were basic but clean and the kitchen was well equipped, enabling us to cook our own meals. Beautiful grounds, the village was a short walk and was lovely, with tea rooms and pubs alongside beautiful little shops. Excellent value for money.
Everything, particularly the staff who all looked and sounded like the enjoyed working in the hotel and it showed in the way they served you.
Service without servility always difficult to achieve. Management work hard to make the conditions for this to happen.
Hartington is a lovely, picturesque village surrounded by green hills and fields. It offers excellent opportunities for walking, and has a couple of tea rooms for refreshment. The residents and shopkeepers were all welcoming ,and helpful
Room - perfect
Temperature of the hotel just right
Continental breakfast what is now acceptable
Evening meal good value, drink’s price was not good value
Parking difficult in the dark.
Would certainly stay again
Fantastic hotel with lovely staff, comfortable rooms and great food and drink. Well located for walks along the River Dove or out across the rolling hills.
