We had a fantastic stay (5 nights) at Lala Land Lodge. Frida and Ben are the lovely, super friendly and chilled couple who run this small family eco-lodge located in beautiful surroundings right in front of the sea. The staff is ultra nice and helpful. We especially loved Hawa with her beautiful energy and professionalism. She is pure sunshine. It is a place that is especially suited for those who seek peace and tranquility as it is a bit secluded. We had delicious and very nutritious breakfasts included with our stay and the rest of the food is excellent and the portions generous. The pool is a mix of salt water and fresh water which we found way better than chlorine pools. Note that for the showers and sink it’s the same. But you are provided with buckets of fresh water to rinse. Basically, we highly recommend Kizimkazi and Lala Land Lodge.

A beautiful beach front lodge in the fishing village of Kizimkazi. Perfect for a quiet getaway. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. For its remote location the facilities such as food, accomodation, internet and hot water in the shower were surprisingly good.

I got from my holidays in the Mandarin Hotel exactely what I was looking for. I was at low season, so there weren't many guests in the hotel. For me it was perfect, because I want to calm down, relax and chill, so I really enjoyed the quiety. The Personal is were nice and they are looking for you, that you always feel well and have everything. Especially thanks to Mr Suleimani from the restaurant, Mr. Hani the Hotel Manager and Othman the Animator, who always carrying about me. I really felt not alone, even if I travelled alone 😊
The food was good. You could always choose a la carte. All in all I can recommend the hotel very much. 👍

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!
PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Place was very clean, food was nice and staff were very friendly, always available to assist
They also organized transport for us to travel around
Pete(Rasta man) was very friendly and he gave me some plants to bring to South Africa, I have them in my garden now
Morning shower was terrible, water was always cold and it seemed like their geyser or boiler was faulty
Shani is a wonderful host. A one in a million combination of super relaxed and incredibly attentive. She made our stay SO easy and helped us with literally everything we needed. The property is lovely but I cannot stress enough how great she made our stay and she knows lots of people nearby who can help make your stay here incredible whether it’s food, transport, places to go, recommendations or logistics she is a fountain of knowledge and her and her staff team made our time in Kizimkazi awesome!
Very nice and calm place to stay. Salida Beach is located in a quiet corner of Kizimkazi, you can walk easily to the village if you need something. Tasty and fresh breakfast and also good food if you want to eat in the hotel restaurant. From the property you can go down directly to the ocean and during the low tide walk by the beach.
People working there are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for nice service :)
I fully recommend.
Amazing staff great location and lot of activities to be done at the hotel. Beautiful property as well. Easy access to private beach and great sunset view . It was our anniversary and they organised romantic dinner around the beach which was extraordinary. Food is amazing even for vegetarian or vegan. They have turtle nursery and Masai village experience for free, so don’t have to pay to experience it outside.
The most beautiful property I stayed at in Zanzibar! Backdrop absolutely beautiful, with the most amazing sunsets every night. The bungalows were amazing, with an outdoor shower/bathroom which really adds to the charm. They offer kayaks and paddle boards for free, you can take right out on the ocean. They have a nice restaurant on-site and the staff were really lovely. I can’t recommend this place enough :-)
Amazing place! We had a great time. Sea View bungalow. It was very easy to get into the sea via the property. No need to go over public beach. Pool was lovely enough chairs. Great breakfast and restaurant. Lovely campfire in the evening. And we even saw some monkey on the property luckily the massai was there to help. Amazing owner! A hidden treasure we were very happy to end our holiday over here
We LOVED kizikula! The food was outstanding, the views were incredible, and the staff were all warm and welcoming. The architecture of the space is stunning - the way it plays off the surrounding beauty is breathtaking. I absolutely recommend kizikula for anyone traveling to Zanzibar. It is a hidden paradise. If you are into yoga the sunset yoga is PHENOMENAL.
The room was very spacious and had two double beds in it as well as a ventilator. The owner is really nice and can provide you with a lot of information about activities not just for Kizimkazi but for stone town as well. The breakfast was exquisite with a fruit platter and lots of different food for you to try

Definitely will back again.
The food was excellent and the hospitality from mama root is as if you are at home. All the arrangements for so organized and also the beach is so in front of the property that you will just sit on the beach whole day and still will not be bored.
The property is very green, nice to walk around or ride bike. The common pool is big and beautiful. The villas are secluded and nobody is bothering you. We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and we can say it was the best choice.
Beautiful place relax and cozy !
I can only recommand this hotel. The restaurant is delicious and meals are prepared with great taste.
The room was great and comfy. They take care of everything for a fair price
The Location was perfect! The food is absolutely delicious and you’ll get never leave hungry. We never experienced a hotel like this (at the beach in paradise) with so few people, it was so quiet and beautiful!
Perfect place to relax, amazing pool as the hotel is set above the beach on coral cliff, cool and unique room designs, food was delicious and staff friendly and fun
