We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in.
We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things.
It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors.
Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english.
Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

Oku-oi kojo, Yume no Tsuribashi...difficult to get to, but worth it. A must visit for those who want to get on hanging bridges, unmanned stations in middle of a lake, train lovers, nature enthusiasts and of course kids who love Thomas.

We only stayed in Shizuoka for 1 night and it was definitely not enough length. We saw Mt. Fiji and beaches, and also experienced hot spring. We went to the waterfall as well. All of experiences were enjoyable.
Very well priced hotel so please select a corner suite on a high floor with the most incredible views you will ever see. The price is reasonable and you will enjoy every second of those captivating mountains and city views. You won’t want to leave as you’re taking your best photos from your bed, and doing your best sightseeing.
We also had one of our best dinners ever in the Chinise restaurant. Beautiful food and service, and easy to walk home.
The hotel is well located and you can walk from the railway station by 15~20 minutes. The public bath in the hotel is superb with long open time that can help relax my body after a whole day visit in the city. There is a lounge next to the public bath which has some massage machines and comics for relax after bathing. The room facilities are very comprehensive with large smart TV. The bed and pillow are very comfortable.
Wonderful ryokan experience, with very helpful and attentive staff. The futon were some of the comfiest I've ever slept on, and the breakfast was a real feast. The Japanese garden and general atmosphere of the inn were very relaxing. Very close to views of Mt Fuji from the beach (if there aren't too many clouds).
Romey is an absolute legend he is one of the best hosts we have had, he made us feel right at home and feel like guests at the same time. Highly highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting a fun getaway in a not so busy part of Japan, really makes it all worth it!
Although Fuji-san was shy in our 2 nighter, the hotel is still a very good stay with amazing views of Shizuoka city. We had a wonderful dinner with great service at Garden Terrace. View sunset from nearby walking-distance Nihondaira Yume Terrace
I had a great stay. It was close to the station, easy access, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The capsule was almost like a personal room and was very clean. It had more privacy and more room than other capsule hotels I've stayed in.
Right next to the train station, convenient to reach.
Large lobby with good atmosphere and restaurants.
Room reasonably large for Japanese standards, and well equipped.
Good bathroom with large bathtub.
The location was excellent. It was very close to the station and to the CBD. The check-in was a smooth process and the rooms were clean. For the purposes of our visit, the hotel was fit for purpose.
This hotel is excellent in so many ways. The view - you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day and the view over the city was amazing. The rooms are not large but ample. Cleanliness was top notch.
The location is very nearby the Shizuoka station. It's really convenient! The room is very private. If you want to have your personal space, the hostel will be one of the options for you!
Quite spacious rooms for a Japanese hotel and great location in front of Shizuoka station. perfect for those who are just passing through and require a night stay.
It is very close to the station and bus stops. Very convenience to go around the sightseeing spots around Shimizu-ku as well as nearby Shizuoka city center.
