Close to universal studios so we could walk back after a big day. Friendly and efficient staff that greeted us and were happy to show the children the big fish tank at checkin, which made it sonic easier after a big day of travel. Organised all our bag forwarding needs. Nice little restaurant, plus snacks available for takeaway.

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.
The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

I booked 4 nights in Osaka which was too long given we had already spent a week in Kyoto which was very close by. If I returned to Japan I'd prefer to have spent longer in Kyoto with a day trip to Osaka.
Best place to visit was the Team Lab Borderless Garden, even though we had a massive downpour in the middle of the visit it was magical and would recommend to everyone. The park restaurant was also a bonus and would recommend eating a small tea there before visiting.
Dotonburi was worth visiting for an evening also.
Having travelled around Japan for the preceding 3 weeks we were shocked to see litter in Osaka and smoking on the streets. The quality of food around Dotonburi wasn't great compared to similar places in other cities.

We booked for 2 nights in Osaka, but as the transport to get there is so efficient, one night would be sufficient to see the sights. Osaka Castle well worth the visit, but easily done if a few hours. Tip: when using the Metro lines, opt for the cheapest fare, and if insufficient, visit the "Fare Adjustment" counter upon arrival at your destination.

Osaka has lots of different things to see, from the castle to the aquarium, modern shopping centers to neon-lit tourist streets and giant underground shopping/dining complexes.
Public transportation is convenient, clean, safe, and timely. Multiple interweaving systems can be a bit confusing, and transfers between lines might involve a bit of walking through large stations.
Osaka is an easy central point for visiting Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji.

Would definitely recommend travellers to rent a car and explore the outskirts of Osaka city, Minoh falls, strawberry farm, Daruma Temple etc. Driving in Osaka city itself was quite confusing as there are many lanes but after awhile it got better. Most touristy attractions can be reached easily by train or bus, but with a car you can go to those far off places to take in the sights of beautiful Osaka and not confined to just the city areas.
Food, shopping and sight seeing is plentiful, the people are mostly very polite and friendly. Transport network is awesome, and Google map works very well there.

For our 4 days and 3 nights stay in Osaka we were able to go to Universal Studios, Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building, Shinsekai, Dotonbori / Shinsaibashi and Namba Yasaka Shrine. All of those places I mentioned have restaurants if you happen to get hungry. Our to go to when we needed a snack was family mart which was everyone. We had to take the train to reach the places I’ve mentioned - it’s cheaper compared to getting a taxi. Osaka is a great place. I would recommend it to those visiting Japan for the first time like my family.

Amazing place.
Amazing place. Lots to see and do but need to venture out of the main part of Osaka if you want to see attractions and have a quieter time . We were there over a weekend and a bank holiday and there were street markets etc which were amazing
Location of the hotel was excellent, right in the middle of Dotonbori. Hotel was very nice, got two rooms, one room was a 3 twin room and the other was a double room. The double room was small for US standards but all web sites said the same about the size of the room. The 3 twin room was fine, bathroom was much bigger. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Osaka. Entrance to Namba station was two blocks away. Plenty of restaurants right outside and walking distance from the hotel.
I didn't have breakfast much as I was up and about earlier than 6:30 for most of the days there. However, the location was great - easy access to Shin-Osaka train station in a 5 minute walk on the Midosuji Subway line, which lets you get to key train stations like Namba and Umeda within the city centre for attractions like Dotonbori and the Umeda Sky Building. Shin-Osaka train station is also well-positioned for the JR lines across Japan, allowing for day trips to places like Kyoto and Hiroshima.
Located about 5 min walk from the Osake Metro station and close to supermarket and 7-11 Shop. Arrived about midday so friendly staff looked after our bags until check-in. Room had two double beds and was relatively large for Japanese hotel. Bathroom a bit small but clean and functional. Beds are very firm, which may be a problem for some visitors. Have free noodles in the lounge but we didn't try. Reasonably priced for a hotel in Osaka and 2 stations from Namba.
For anyone using the trains to get around Japan, staying in a hotel directly above a JR train station is a great way to go! There are so many food and shopping options on the floor below, combined with a extremely comfortable hotel above. It made for a great home base for our touring of Osaka and Kyoto. Coming back to the hotel each night, we had a huge selection of food options without having to leave the property. We had a fantastic stay here!
This hotel is right in the center of everything. All major attractions are walking distance. The famous Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi station are 5-10 minutes away. Namba station is 20 minutes away. The Library cafe where breakfast is served really relaxing and open till midnight. All the staff are really helpful, especially Miss Sugimura who is kind cheerful and speaks English fluently. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Osaka.
Clean, modern hotel. We had a huge room for Osaka with a table. Thank you for the very quiet room on 13th floor, end of hallway. We purchased the breakfast buffet for just one am. Spouse and I enjoyed the nightly happy hour ( wine and snacks). Spouse also enjoyed the nightly ochazuke buffet. I loved the Japanese facial samples at lobby. Great value hotel! Very close to Osaka station. 10 min walk.
One of the best and most unique hotels we have stayed at. It literally has everything you need and more - free toiletries, free soft drinks and popcorn, massage chairs, darts, even karaoke rooms! Our room was very spacious and had a great bathtub with a TV next to it. Impressive hotel and a must visit place if you are in Osaka. Dotonbori str. is close by, as is Namba station.
The hotel is new and modern. The room was very nice and clean, with a good design, a bit more spacious than most of the rooms in urban hotels in Japan. The location was perfect, less than 10 min walk from Osaka station and in a neighborhood full of stores and restaurants. We did not eat at the hotel, but the restaurant looked good.
Very clean and new hotel in Osaka Namba station. Simple breakfast with Japanese miso soup and rice ball etc.
Very neat to Nankai rapid train station. Osaka metro exit 24 is the nearest exit to hotel. There is a elevator near the Starbucks cafe leading to an office building besides Lawson
Room was big, much bigger than many other Japanese hotels.
The public bath is fantastic, a really wonderful treat (especially as it's free!)
Free shuttle bus to Osaka station was a real bonus.
There's a lovely calm vibe in the lobby and I love whatever scent is being used!
The location is incredibly ideal. Exit 3 of Higobashi station is right in front of the door. Within a minute you're at Osaka station and the other way, a few minutes to Dotonbori.
The staff is very friendly & the bed is one of the best in the business hotels I've stayed at.
This was a great hotel to stay at in Osaka. The staff were incredible and helped at every opportunity to ensure the best stay possible. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family going to Osaka, Japan. Looking forward to staying here on our next visit to Japan.
The location of the hotel is excellent, it is in the city centre of Osaka conveniently connected with the well organized transport system within the city as well as to other cities in Japan. Furthermore we can take the airport limousine bus directly arriving to the hotel.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was also larger than most hotel bathrooms. The bed were comfortable too. A short 10 min walk to dotonbori and namba nankai station is a huge bonus. The breakfast buffet was typically a healthy scrumptious Japanese breakfast!
Was unstaffed so not a good first hotel if just arriving but we knew that. Very close to dontonbori. Walked everywhere with a toddler. Very quiet. Everything you need. Kitchen, washing machine, secure. Go to the spanish/japanese place AMAZON OSAKA across the road.
This is my third time staying at Nico Hotel and it has always been exactly as what I expect it to be. Rooms are spacious as compared to the standard rooms you get in Japan. It is the perfect choice for groups or families traveling to Osaka.
Great location near Shin Osaka Station.
The room was big enough (compared to some tiny Japanese city hotels we've stayed in.
Clean and comfy and good value
Very convenient location in Osaka. Service is very good. They provide luggage delivery to other hotels as well which is a big must in travelling in Japan.
