Good as the base for outdoor activities like hiking and biking. Our kind of vacation wasn't based on what the town has to offer, but on the surrounding nature, so I can't say much about the tourist's attractions in the town. Sometimes there's a problem to find a place to eat. You have to reserve a place in the restaurant in order to get there. Schluchsee is lovely.
Schluchsee is lovely. The location is perfect, 20min to titisee and, 20 min to feldberg (highest peak with cable lifts), 50 min to schaffhaussen or basel, 50 min to Freiburg. In the summer period the see is so nice with boats and beaches everywhere. Just a great place

Amazing and very welcoming!
Amazing and very welcoming! Great for short w-e at Feldberg Ski Station but also for walking/running in the forest or by the lake. After a day of exercise there is nothing better than relaxing at Badeparadies Schwarzwald. It is Highly recommended to have Schwarzwald Card since it includes Ski pass + Wellness ;)

Schluchsee was relaxing, not overrun by tourists, plenty of lake pleasure and Black Forest walks. The Seehof restaurant was enjoyable with well-cooked food and the best service with a smile. The red card with 100 activities for free, including train trips is a bonus.RonAustralia

I do not understand the bad reviews, so thats why I give it a 10, to offset the other reviews. We had a room with a nice balcony and view, and the bathroom was clean and renovated. The house itself is a bit older, but thats okay. other hotels in this location sometimes ask double the price for a room. We enjoyed our time and are visiting again.DavidYoung couple

Also there is a very nice Italian cafe in the same building. Pool is very nice and clean, but may be crowded sometimes, so better chose the visiting hours in the morning or evening. It is astonishingly beautiful. During our stay, we also used the breakfast and afternoon tea and cake there. The food, especially the cake, is delicious. The hotel staff treated us with care and patience. We also used the sauna in the hotel. It is definitely a good place to go in winter and in summer.

We only stayed one night, but didn't want to leave so soon! A nice, long, lovely walk through the forest from the hotel took us to Aha. Would recommend this hotel and hope to be back!

For the fact it was an apartment house, we enjoyed very nice sauna and indoor pool. Most of all the hotels open their sauna from earliest 11 AM but we were able to enjoy it earlier before checkout. We could drop the bikes in the garage. It is 100 m from the trainstation ( we got free travel tickets from the hotel) what is great if you want to stop the Gipfeltrail or start here.
