Had a wonderful stay in Chez Maria Julia. Perfect location, near to the beach and shops and not far to the centre and other attractions. The staff in the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly and make your stay very comfortable. Also the food and menu is great. I would highly recommend.

I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead. In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.MarlenePortugal - 10Scored 10

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. IT was a positive surprise. Cape Verde is a great place to visit. Great sea front restaurants Street Art Nights are filled with fantastic music and rich food. Some great beaches in the outskirts Of Praia. Visited Tarrafal and Assomada and Cidade Velha for its History and beach . « Portondi nos ilha « was also vert interesting place visited. At Cidade velha we stumbled at Batuku ,a restaurant where we had the Best grilled garopa ever. Great funNeto - 8.0Scored 8.0
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.

Huge window that opens with the shades overlooking the ocean good bed to sleep. Lots of glass around the property also is a plus doesn’t make you feel trap in the hotel. Terraces pool and bar with magnificent view of the ocean and all around the city. Closed to alot of great places to eat and listen to live music. Definitely my new favorite place to stay in Praia I will return soon. Love the place.

The chef Jose was super welcomed and kind and gave us very good advice about the places to visit for our only day at Praia. The location is good, few minutes from the airport, not far from the Plato and you can go easily to Quebra Canela by taxi or bus. Would recommend this place if you go to Praia.
