We stayed just one night here and felt like we had a chance in the afternoon of arrival and then a few hours in the morning to see everything major in town. We arrived on a Sunday night and it was SWARMING - my son actually said it reminded him of Disneyland with vendors selling all the same things like light up toys, etc. Monday morning was much more calm and enjoyable. Was able to see the beautiful sites and enjoy the town much more. The volcano was barely coming out as we were leaving so wish we had a better view of that.

pay in Q and not dollars or use your credit card which is not a guarantee. They were canceling my guest reservations and my VISA/MC or DISCOVER was not working except my DEBIT card which was odd but was later explained that they have to wait 8 days to get the money from the credit card and DEBIT card was immediate money. That was not nice.

Lovely historical town that captures the culture, cuisine and spirit of the country. Walkable, or by Uber or tuk tuk. Most streets are bumpy cobblestone, so don’t recommend bikes, although there are bike tours provided in the area. Lots of hotels, B&Bs, and restaurants, museums, historical sites and shops for tourists.

It's a UNESCO site, so you know with certainty it's very special. I found it spellbinding; it's a place that "has it all!" Never once felt unsafe, even walking through town alone in the wee hours of the morning. Easily and enjoyably very walkable, even from one side of the city to the other (but you need comfortable walking shoes given the cobblestone streets laid in the 1850s). Great restaurants and pubs on every block, too numerous to mention except, perhaps, for the Irish pub called "Snug."

Antigua is a beautiful city with so much to do and so much to see! I walked all over the city at all times of the day and night! I never saw any danger or felt any danger! Antigua is very safe, different than Guatemala city! I did not go and I had no interest in going to Guatemala City. Antigua has everything!

Looked forward to coffee and Rosa's breakfast on the terrace each morning taking in the beautiful views. Irving is extremely knowledgeable of Guatemala and Latin America in general and with his high profiency in English, we were grateful for all his knowledge to assist us in our travels. The hostel arranged transportation from the airport to the hostel for us and the driver was very good. It was a fair price compared to other services. I would highly recommend using the hostel transport service.
The best about the accommodation is Carlos, the hostel owner. Definitely come here for his awesome support! He’s a great, kind and foremost knowledgeable guy. Carlos showed us the whole town of Antigua on a map with all important spots, cheap restaurants and ATMs. He can also organise trips and shuttles for the cheapest options and gives you price recommendation.
The size of our twin room with a single bed was good with lots of storage. Toilets and showers were clean.
Not the place if you're looking for a 'boutique hotel' vibe (you'll find plenty in the rest of Antigua) but perfect if you're looking for a no-nonsense place close to the city center with a very homey feeling. Alvaro and his wife were so helpful and friendly troughout our stay (general info, transportation,...). Room and breakfast were basic but decent, bathroom's a bit run down but overall great value for money. Views of erupting Fuego volcano from the roof terrace!
My transportation driver Edris (I don't know how to spell his name) that Ojala provided was the first person to welcome me to guatemala. I am forever thankful to him.He is so nice and the ride to Antigha was so much fun
The crew were all attentive and nice, also shout out to the ojala café crew too
I love the location it's very close to everything
My private room was clean
Ojala is very beautiful, the nature, the view. I just enjoyed my stay there
The beds are extremely comfortable and very private even though I was in a dorm of 12. The patio area was social particularly in the mornings and evenings. The terrace was a great place to relax and the toilets are cleaned regularly. Because I work when I travel these things are very important to me. Also, because im a coffee fanatic, its great that there is a coffee shop here that serves good quality coffee and delicious pastries.
The space is absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't look like your standard hotel and I felt like I was in Guatemala. Beautiful interior design and my room was a dream. Patio with fountain, fireplace, rain shower, and the products were divine. I stayed at Porta for the end of the trip with Lago de Atitlán in between, and prefer El Convento. They just didn't have a room available at the end of my trip. Super helpful and friendly staff.
We liked it so much that we booked extra nights. Cleaning is unbelievable good, staff is super friendly and helpful, its close to the center yet far enough from noise to get a good night sleep. The whole place looks lovely. We used the offer they have for transportation, it was the most economic option and worked great. Breakfast I'm the morning is also a very good way to start the day.
we did not have breakfast there but we sat in the wonderful garden at other times. The location was perfect, the hotel was super fun, with great art and wonderful staff. Would highly recommend this hotel to any travelrs to Antigua. The owner was fantastic, met us showed us the property and even set up our transportation back to the airport at 230am. It could not have been more perfect.
Breakfast was Guatemalan-style, which suited me just fine -- I was in Guatemala, after all.
The location is on an important street, but the rooms are set back, so that didn't factor into the stay at all.
It was really easy to walk to places of interest.
The woman at the front desk was very helpful in helping me navigate what I needed in English.
Beauty. The garden is incredible. It is an easy walk to the town square. The rooms have fans and air conditioning. They are spacious and very clean. The staff is over the top marvelous. Helped with everything from transportation to Antigua information, the breakfast menu was perfect, etc. the staff speaks Spanish and English.
We were there for a wedding in Antigua and stayed at the Porta. Our six day stay was terrific! What a pleasant staff you have. We had a very large group of about 20 people stay there and everyone was very pleased with their stay. My wife said to give a shout out to Valarina who did her nails. Food was excellent
Lovely hotel, we loved the colourful decoration and the pool. Breakfast at their sister hotel was great, you can get a ticket for a discount. Coffee is available to help yourself to which is a nice touch. Staff were helpful with all our questions, organising tours, laundry etc.
Gustavo was so accommodating! He helped me organize airport transportation and COVID testing for re-entry into the US. The staff was incredibly welcoming and showed me to my cute room and inviting shared garden space.
The hotel is magnificent, the way the convent has been converted is unique, stunning and a pleasure to explore. The room was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the spa pools.
Atmospheric boutique hotel. Rooms are shabby chic style. Wonderful patio with swimming pool. Breakfast is ok. Good location, Nice rooftop. 5 minutes walking to the main plaza.
