We knew we were booking budget accomidation as all we needed was a quick place to sleep overnight and leave early in the morning. The room was what we expected, fairly small, basic and clean with a TV and ensuite. We booked it at the last minute and I was happy with the room and vey happy with the price.

Bunks were really large, so you could fit your entire case/rucksack in there easily. Beds were comfortable, and there was a light and socket in each bunk. Blinds on each bed were great.
Staff were really helpful, common areas were great. Bathrooms were clean too. About 10-15 mins walk from the intercity stop.

Great eating out, some a little overpriced however.
Great eating out, some a little overpriced however. Monday is a very quiet night for eating out!
For a good unpretentious meal try Cobb and Co. The Vine has a vast range of goodies. The Indian restaurants are all good.

1-2 days maximum is more than enough. Food their is great and beautiful coffee, but do keep in mind everything is expensive as it is a tourist spot. Otherwise great location to visit. I visited Huka falls and Wairakei terrace hot pools which was an amazing experience.

Was not in Taupo long but what I saw looked good. Smaller town with a nice atmosphere. Plenty of places to eat, things to see and do. Getting around Taupo in peak hours is a challenge so time your travel.

We just wanted the best affordable accommodation as we were passing through to spend the day with family then returned again the next night. Loved having a comfortable and spacious hotel type room to relax in after a long drive.

We done the bungy, was our first time definitely recommend stepping outside your comfort zone to give it a go,
And we attended a event at the taupo motorsport park
Definitely 2 things to have a look at
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They recommended activities in Taupo, good restaurants and breakfast places that were all amazing!
They helped us with our skydiving reservation and went out of their way to make sure we could get our jump.
Location is a few minutes walk away from the lakefront and the harbour can be reached in a 20~30 minutes very enjoyable walk.
The room was extremely clean and well furnished. Beds included a heated mattress which was the cherry on top for our nights!
It was clean - my top priority! It was roomy with a separate bedroom in the standard unit. It had a kitchen so you could cook if you wanted - this included a microwave and a half size fridge. Unit 6 is on the upper level with a set of outside stairs on either end of the complex. Parking was outside the room and free. Had a distant view of Lake Taupo from the lounge. Room was quiet and a cheaper price than most. Close to town - could walk but we drove.
The room was generally quiet, although the design of the hotel means that any noise in the corridor will reverberate through the room.
The room was large (beds for 3) and was fairly comfortable.
Check in was painless.
Bathrooms & kitchen were spotlessly clean & there was adequate utensils for preparation of meals.
Appreciated the undercover parking & the short walk to the main commercial area of Lake Taupo.
A recommended budget stay.
So close to services. Comfortable walking distance as in less than one block from major supermarket and chemist amongst other stores.
Comfy as bed.
Nice and clean.
Kitchen equipped enough to reheat or stove top cook.
Host wasnt so chatty or helpful upon arrival but lovely and super helpful the next morning. Bad hair day maybe!!
Lovely lake views from our second storey unit.
Warm unit with spare blankets.
Generous sized bathroom/toilet.
One of the key advantages of attending a concert in Taupo is the walking access from motel to concert. The motel is positioned away from night life so it is quiet and safety is important to me and both factors lived up to my expectations. The walk was 10 mins away and city amenities the same with a 15 min hikoi to the lake. Very achievable no matter your stamina.
We loved everything about our time at Acacia Cliffs. The home is lovely with an incredible view of Lake Taupo. Neil was a wonderful host, and we enjoyed spending time in the morning chatting with him. Unfortunately, Neil’s wife Stephanie was out of town visiting family, so we didn’t get the chance to meet her. We hope to return at some point in the future!
Fantastic location, great spa bath, comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning unit that doesn’t dry out your throat or blow directly on you and lovely private balcony with views of the lake. We’ve stayed at many hotels in Taupo over the years whenever we’re in the country and this is definitely one of the best so far!
The cabin we stayed in was great. Very clean and had everything we needed. Also enjoyed the terrace with beautiful view of the lake. Staff was very kind, bistro on site was convenient and Hilton hotel next door gave another walkable restaurant option. The private pool was the highlight of spa.
well sized mini apartments with great kitchen facilities. Very contemporary, clean and well appointed, our unit would have suited two couples or family of 4. Quiet location just outside the shopping area of Taupo but within walking distance. Instantly contactable friendly staff by phone.
Great motel right across the street from Lake Taupo and within easy walking distance of the downtown restaurants and shops. Very spacious room with a comfortable bed, large bathroom and small kitchenette. Nice area to sit outside and look at the lake and easy parking close to the room.
I like that the room and the beddings were so clean. The pools and spa were heated and just straight across our room. Included breakfast with the hotel was of very high standard. The hotel didn’t do cheap breakfast to cut corners to save themselves money.
Very nice property across the street from Lake Taupo. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided nice little extras like biscuits and milk to go with all the coffee and tea options. The location was perfect. I wish we had more than one night there.
The location was perfect just a walk down the motel path to beautiful lake Taupo. Virtually a lake on your back doorstep . Lake was so clear and clean to swim in.
Very quiet and considerate neighbours all around. Bikes and kayaks available to hire.
The lovely welcome from Alice at Reception set the scene for a very nice stay. The room, although dated as was the motel, was clean and comfortable and very spacious. The view was sensational looking straight out across Lake Taupo.
Great place to stay, beautiful hotel, room with sunrise and sunset views right in front of the lake, very clean and tidy, with friendly staff. The best lakefront hotel in Taupo. Will definitely be returning when in Taupo.
The property was what they have advertised, a 3 star hotel, but with excellent location exactly in front of the lake and all the restaurants outside the door.
The owner is very responsive, helpful and a real gentleman.
Being across the road from the lake and easy walking distance into Taupo town center,
Malcolm was a great host and our double apartment was finished to a high standard.
We will definitely stay again when in Taupo.
