I would describe it as rustic and serene, especially with the river beside it. Yes!! A running river, not much of a great sight but the sound of flowing water bring peace to your soul. Also, there's a private and excusive onsen beside the river, you just have to reserve it. Now to the most important aspect, the staff of Seiryuso. The hotel manager, Kajiki san set the benchmark for top notch hospitality. He has a bubbling personality, always giving out good vibes and positive energy. Always ready to serve and provide service. Always service with a smile.😊😊😊. Well, Japanese are known to provide great service but this is a whole other level. A special shout-out to the restaurant crew, specifically the service staff, didn't manage to get all their names other than matsuyi san. Kudos to the other gentlemen that provided the service.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. It’s a family owned guest house with mother, father and two kids born 2020 and 2023. The father speaks English and that is friendly and eager to help. The common area is the same as the family’s private space. As a family you have access to a big bath tub big enough for four people. The house is made out of mainly wood, which is spacious and cozy. They created small areas for kids to play. Example a small ropeway. The father likes spear fishing. Relaxed atmosphere and helpful family made the trip to Amami really pleasant. Recommended.

Japanese-style rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. All rooms include air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a fridge. The en suite bathroom comes with a bathtub and toilet. Absolutely loved the place! It’s a hotel, but has a ryokan influence. The Japanese room was great, with enough room to move around and everything you need - water, tea, yukata, fridge etc The onsen and traditional breakfast were great, too. The location is perfect to visit many places of interest and the City View bus stop is just a couple of min walk from it. My favourite thing was staff: they are all professional, friendly, welcoming, super kind and helpful. If I come back I will definitely stay here again, no doubt!

This hotel was a very nice surprise. Our room was exceptional - a very spacious, luxurious room with four different areas. The entry way to our room as well as the furnishings in the room were beautiful. It was a great place to relax. The view from our windows was magnificent! Our dinner was very delicious and filling. The breakfast was also very good. The hot sand bath - sunamushi sakaba - was a new, great experience for us. The onsen area is very large and clean, a nice place to soak after a long day. If you go, enjoy the bar located by the onsen - it's free to hotel guests and the bartender was very kind.

Japanese-style rooms with Nitanda River views, green tea and traditional futon bedding await guests at Ryokan Kawakyu, located a 8-minute drive from JR Ibusuki Train Station. It has an indoor hot-spring bath with fresh hot spring water and serves Japanese cuisine. The Staff was very welcoming and helpful, starting with kindly greeting us at Ibusuki train station and generously providing a ride to the ryokan. Loved the traditional tatami room and wonderful hot springs (even with a private bath area). The owner was very responsive to communication via Booking message app and also has very strong English so all went smoothly. Breakfast on site was very good and convenient since restaurants are primarily near the station.

Hostel located in an old building, set to be demolished soon. Old style house with a good vibe. Tatami room with bunk beds, single room with futon. Kitchen is equipped so I bought groceries and cooked. You can stay in the living room and socialise with other guests. Location is ideal, near Tenmonkan and port. Good bakery just down the street.
The hotel offer black sand bath (at 1,100 yen) and onsen. There are a lot of different style of yukata for ladies to choose from. Dinner was delicious with a Japanese pork set and some other buffet option. The sea view was nice.
Outdoor onsen next to car park so it was necessary to walk out in the cold (1 minute) before getting to a bath. But by gosh the onsen water was hot! After our bath we were so toasty and warm we could have walked around in our yukata for ages! Fantastic location of hotel as next to Lawson and main info area. Good kaiseki breakfast served by genuinely warm and lovely obasan. Friendly. Just opposite a great bbq beef restaurant.
Large hot spring (onsen) and facilities were great. The outdoor hot spring boasts a view of the Volcano Sakurajima. Breakfast buffet was amazing with their huge selection of choices. It is an old, famous hotel in Kagoshima and it has history. Everywhere including our rooms were spotlessly clean. It also has a convenience store.
Small but cozy and modern Japanese onsen ryokan
Wonderfully warm and welcoming was Mr Hideaki and the ryokan staff. From train station drop and pick up to a tailored to our interests day tour of Ibusuki (so very well worth it) to restaurant recommendations to good stories sum up our stay! The place was clean, calm, located in walking distance to the famous the sand baths as well as multiple restaurants. The Japanese traditional breakfast was very good. The common bath area was very clean and well maintain! Overall splendid time, we could not have asked for more! Thank you Mr Hideaki!!
Staying at this Ryokan was a fantastic experience. We opted for the set dinner and breakfast, which were elaborate and delicious, and enjoyed the riverside and indoor family onsens. I was expecting some formality, but very friendly staff (English spoken) and relaxed atmosphere. Very good written information about Japanese bathing customs etc. Also, although not cheap, very good value.
Luxury ryokan with private onsen in a lovely garden with great indoor and outdoor outdoor onsen. Everything was just perfect and everybody was very kind!
Super traditional breakfast. Super views across the sea. Excellent onsen.
