A few days before the start of our journey, the hotel contacted us to say that they were unfortunately unable to provide us with the room due to work. However, they offered to book a room for us at their partner hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away at Kutsurogijuku Shintaki.
The staff were very accommodating and even when we asked for a vegan dinner, everything was made possible.
We were very satisfied.

The reception rooms and lounges were large and comfortably furnished with free coffee for guests. The location was excellent for exploring the city and there was a lovely mountain road behind the hotel leading up to the peak through lush forests. The highlight was the fabulous hot and cold food provided at the expansive buffet at breakfast and dinner. The quality and selections were outstanding. The dining room also had a wonderful view over the city and the valley below.

The room is clean and tidy. It is a sufficient for 3 of us. We had good time resting and watching TV in the room after dinner.
As we travel by car, so the location is basically not a problem. There is onsen so we don't have to fight for the bathroom. The onsen is superb as well! Very comfortable and cozy after taking a hot bath! Probably only in the morning when we do our make-up, we might need to use the mirror a bit but with the large window and sunlight we are still able to complete the morning routine in the room. What we love the most is the FREE karaoke!!! We had a good time there!
By the way, the amenities are fully equipped. There are makeup remover, face wash, cotton, moisturiser in the public onsen (women). Very convenient!
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
