It seems popular with motorcycle travelers doing the Transfagarasan. My room had a small balcony perfect for a afternoon beer after all the riding. Cold beers can purchased cheap across the street in a shop. There is a cafe 50 m away, which do simply hot meals.

The Poenari Castle is 2 km away. Nice, clean and comfortable restaurant-hotel located conveniently on the Transfagaras highway, close to the Poenari citadel (sadly it is closed in the year 2023). Although the building is on the main road, it is not noisy in the room, because it is in a small town and the windows are on the side of the building. Good breakfast (chosen from the menu and additionally paid). Nice English-speaking people. Regular rooms have a balcony from which you could see some mountains in the distance. However, the name "bella vista" is far from reality;-)
