Perfectly located around 800m from Skogafoss waterfall and just over 1 km from the ethnographic museum (cultural collection of 18,000 objects and artifacts exhibited in 3 museums and 6 historical buildings, and definitely worth a visit). Room was comfortable, plenty of parking, and a plentiful breakfast in the morning with great scrambled eggs and bacon.

Our stay at Ásólfsskáli Cottage was simply wonderful! The house was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The location was very quiet and peaceful, just as we had hoped - perfect for getting some rest after a two-week trip. Another big advantage was the excellent location: we were able to reach numerous sights within half an hour by car. The beautiful canyon directly behind the cottage, ideal for relaxing walks, was also perfect for slowing down away from the tourist hustle and bustle. One highlight was definitely the hot tub, where we were even able to marvel at the Northern Lights one evening - a magical moment that we won't soon forget. The tour of the farm was also an absolute highlight. The hosts invited us for coffee and cake and we were given a wonderful insight into life on the farm - an unforgettable experience!
All in all, it was the perfect place to get away from it all. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

The forgotten farmhouse is really an extraordinary, lovely place. Perfectly renovated it offers all convenience and a great bathroom. If we have the chance to come back to Iceland, we will definitely come back to the forgotten farmhouse- we simply loved it and it's close to many sites to visit.
The staff were lovely - they even gave us a free glass of fizz as we got engaged during our trip. We also really enjoyed their Northern Lights warning system where they will come and knock on your door to make sure you don't miss your chance to see them - which we didn't! Although it would have been hard to miss from the beautiful big window in hte room. The location is brilliant for exploring and the food was also very good.
My room was big, nice and clean. I appreciated the possbility to do the self-checkin at any time I preferred. I also enjoyed a lot the breakfast they propose, since it has several local and fresh dishes (rhubarb jam, harrings, etc)
Very convenient for main waterfall site and great to relax after long walk up waterfall valley.
Very nice breakfast with good range of hot and cold food. They filled our flask for us when asked, and very friendly.
Free tea and coffee machine in reception made lovely coffee and chocolate.
Lovely breakfast with some local dishes to try. Location was perfect for the sights we wanted to see and quiet. We enjoyed the flexible, contactless check-in and the central coffee machine including hot chocolate for the kids was a nice touch to help relax.
