My room was excellent, the walk in shower in the bathroom was huge. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous, so tasty and well presented, as was breakfast, everything was delicious. Bottles of water in the room and the fridge, along with some beer and cans of coke.
Set in the historic grounds of Wivenhoe Park, this 18th-century house is next to the University of Essex campus.

We had the balcony room so very nice views .
Restaurant lovely so was the food & wine .
Special thanks to restaurant manager Lionel ( hope thats the correct spelling ) he couldnt do enough for us , nothing was too much trouble for him .
Ladies on reception also very helpful & friendly .

Breakfast good. Decor in room looked tired/ fairly basic, lighting poor. One wall showed areas of peeling paint in bathroom.

A lovely romantic property with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The jacuzzi was well maintained and a lovely addition to the stay in a cute and cosy cottage style property. Highly recommmend to any couple looking for a romantic getaway.

Was upgraded to a superior room with balcony which was a lovely treat. The room was comfortable with good views. A ceiling fan and cooler unit were also in the room which was great for a hot summers day. A full choice at breakfast and lots of places to sit and relax around the hotel. A nice ambience overall and would stay again.
Beautiful shepards hut, very well equipped. Heather went the extra mile to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Perfect spot for relaxing and the hot tub is lovely. Great views across the fields at the back and doesn't feel overlooked at all. Ducks are just the cutest and really made our stay special. The hut is fab and even though its naturally a small space everything is so well thought out. We loved it!
Everything about this hotel was fantastic the bed was super comfortable it was our anniversary and was upgraded to the signature suite which was super clean the breakfast was lovely will definitely be going back to stay again next year.
The room was lovely. We had a superior room with a balcony. It was nice and spacious and comfortable with nice view. The veggie breakfast was great. There were plenty of places to relax. We sat on the balcony of our room in the afternoon and enjoyed a bottle of wine in the Autumn sun but there was also a nice marquee with blankets or a lounge for guests to use.
