Only had small breakfast. Staff very efficient and responsive - overall good value and high comfort- not quite 5 star but a good 4? We Stayed here in June and were pleased to select this hotel again. We think the massive upgrades & changes since the old ‘The Residance’ have made a first class job of improving what is an excellent centre of town location. We will tevommm my tbd this hotel.

We were in Room 105 which was on the front of the hotel.
The young lady on reception that checked us in was charming and very helpful. She also spoke very good English. Generally all the staff, on reception and in the breakfast room and bar, were helpful and very pleasant.
We were able to pull up in front of the hotel to unload and load our cases which was very helpful as the hotel has no parking. Parking was on the main square less than 100m away. There are both underground and overground spaces, with the former being the more expensive. It is very busy and you may need to queue and wait for a space.
The hotel reception, breakfast room and bar were grand, historic and tastefully renovated, retaining many of the buildings’ original features.
Our room was immaculately clean, freshly decorated and well appointed with an antique wardrobe, crisp white bed linen, a good size flat screen TV, desk and chair, USB charging points at both sides of the bed, high quality black out curtains and windows opening onto the street. The shower was excellent with an easily controllable thermostatic shower, and a tiled enclosure with glass doors. All finished to a high quality. The street was quiet during the day and night with little traffic.
The garden area was beautiful with numerous high quality cafe tables and chairs as well as sofas with coffee tables. It made a very relaxing space in which to have a drink from the bar, or a snack from the menu, or, on warmer mornings, your breakfast.
Situated in the lively Saint Nicolas district in La Rochelle, this hotel is surrounded by antique dealers, bars and cafés. It offers free Wi-Fi and a conservatory with large sofas and tropical plants....

Easy walking to main town and port and we were able to park in the hotel car park which was a big bonus. The hotel had a lovely historical ambience, the rooms are spacious with a 'Beatles' theme!

Gorgeous little guest house run by the very professional and helpful Catherine.,felt very authentic and French and far superior to staying in a hotel. So convenient to airport-only 20 mins on bus. Streets around are quiet and residential but still nice walk into main port.
Gorgeous, simple continental breakfast served with care. Liked the little pool which we used every day and lovely quiet spaces in patio to read and relax.
Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Wonderful hostess. Fabulous breakfast. Fabulous advice and help. Nothing was too much trouble. Just the best place to stay for La Rochelle.
Lovely walk into town. Easy walk to and from the bus stop to and from the airport.
Lovely clean pool.
Wonderful stay.
The pool area and service were exceptional. The free Cocktail on arrival really sweetened us up. We also were gifted a free bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. The receptionist booked us a table in her favourite restaurant and it was beautiful! Definitely will be back
We were upgraded a suite which was a really nice touch and made up for the weather. Parking was easy and our electric car charging was included in the price.
Breakfast was expensive but worth every penny. Lots of choice and excellent quality.
All the staff were very professional and made us feel relaxed and welcome.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the cassoulet my husband had for room service was really good!
The staff were pleasant, thoughtful and helpful. They remembered a significant birthday with kind gifts and a room upgrade. Lovely room and good breakfast.
Stylish and pretty. Lovely courtyard to relax with a drink or coffee. Room was a good size with very comfortable beds. Very well located. Just a short walk to the old port. Private parking.
Our hosts Eric and Sylvie were most welcoming and were fill of advice on how to get around La Rochelle area on our bikes. We enjoyed relaxing and eating out in their lovely enclosed garden.
Had detailed email on how to get to the hotel due to the bollards in the town centre. The hotel was only 10 minutes from the Port of La Rochelle and shops and restaurants.
They upgraded our room on arrival. Could not fault any of the staff. Had a lovely cocktail bar. Our dog was welcome throughout.
Wow, what an amazing property in a fabulous location . The property exceeded all expectations, it’s beautiful.
Very clean and spacious apartment in the middle of everything, surrounded by bars and restaurants with the bedrooms located at the back so you don’t hear any noise at night . Full of old world charm with very comfortable beds and lovely communal area to relax.
