South AfricaI wanted to have dinner on the verandah- TERRIBLE piped music. Worse than elevator music. Menu very limited especially for a non -meat eater and the panko prawns I ordered were mushy and below average. Service was not great - I felt completely forgotten once I had been served my meal. Rooms are not very sound proof you can virtually hear the conversations in adjoining rooms.

The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by trees and mountains. The staff really went out of their way to make our wedding anniversary celebration special by leaving us delicious treats in our room and decorating our bed with rose petals. ❤ The breakfast was also top class. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcome.

It was our wedding anniversary so we were disappointed that there were apparently no villas available, in the end after a couple of hours delay someone checked out so we were able to get the category of room we had expected

South AfricaThe property is in need of a little lustre however the recent storms might have affected it and they are busy building in a few of the areas which Is always great to see improvement but perhaps the overall feel could use some TLC. The pool area is really beautiful but the pool itself wasn't up to standard in terms of cleanliness and perhaps was getting serviced the next day but didn't bother to go swim again. Also ensure that your room has hot water allocation and your geyser is not affected by load shedding. Lastly two of the rooms we had allocated had damp issues but you can see visible signs of fixing and many hotels and properties in Cape Town have been affected by the very heavy rainfalls over the last few months.
The extensive property was a refreshing sight in Franschoek, located in the mountains just 6 minutes drive into the village but far enough to feel tranquility. A great Menu Breakfast selection and small buffet selection with freshly squeezed juices were all delicious. The restaurant and Terrace views are something so special. The staff are all very attentive and its a quiet hotel with more older couples staying. The rooms are spacious and the new amenities range is good. Security felt extremely safe, even when arriving home after hours there were tons of staff still around and not a ghost town like some other properties which we truly appreciated. Brilliant wifi signal across most of the hotel.

The facilities are great! The pool area with jazuzzi is heavenly and the historic grounds & buildings are beautiful.
