Best place for enjoying peace and nature. Lovely and cosy place with very comfortable beds and a nice big kitchen. Marco and Vivian are always there if you need anything. The stars at night are amazing. Always coming back.

There is WiFi if you wish, it is not reliable for anyone who really needs to get work done.

Perfectly situated... Amazing place to really switch off and reset. Perfect place to relax in the hot tub with a view, take a walk, enjoy a fire and just digitally detox. We will be back...

We really enjoyed our down-time in this fantastic mountain setting. The accommodation, as well as being genuinely sustainable, is tasteful and thoroughly considered in every aspect.

Being caught in a massive thunderstorm and flash-flood while out hiking (totally our own fault) but what we did love is being rescued by Marco :D

Everything! : The location - tucked away in the Klein Karoo, but still close to several key towns. Plenty of hiking and running options. The hosts: Vivian and Marco were absolutely great. The cottage: had everything we needed, and of course we loved the wood-fired hot tub. The farm: an unbelievably impressive sustainable initiative. Can't wait to go back!

Only suggestions would be a comfy couch for inside, especially for colder evenings by die fireplace.

The view and location are amazing and just what we were looking for - nature and quietness! The cottage is beautiful and modern and has everything you need.

Enjoy the off the beaten track position off the grid, self catering in warm, cosy and private units. The combination of fly fishing, hiking, Mtb and visit to Montegu ensures a fulfilled stay.

Absolutely fantastic stay, in a cosy cottage nestled deep in the mountains of Montagu. We explored the trails, visited all the sundowner spots, napped, braaied and enjoyed how time seemed to stand still. We will definitely be back!

I would have liked a microwave so that we could warm the food.

I enjoyed the quietness and the fact that there was no load shedding. The place was neat and clean and everything was modern. The view from the cottage was amazing.

It was perfect!

Pure, sweet freedom. Nothing around you, nothing encumbering you, what seems like the entire world at your feet as nothing obstructs your view in any direction, and not a soul around to destroy the beautiful moment unfolding before you. The setting of the cottages was so naturally beautiful, it quieted my mind.

Fantastic location with amazing eco-friendly accommodation which was very well equipped and comfortable. Superb hiking trails and sundowner/picnic spots! Would definitely recommend Kingfisher Cottages, just 25km outside Montagu.

The only criticism is that it would have been nice to have a couch in the loungeroom, rather than individual chairs when sitting by the fire.

The location was spectacular. It was remote but that's what we were looking for. Such a beautiful part of the country, where we were able to just switch off, relax and just be at one with nature. The property was extremely clean and very well equipped. Satellite wifi was excellent, although with views like that you really don't want to be on your phone. Wonderful walks on the property and the hosts, Marco and Vivian were wonderful.

The Eco Lii, that too some getting used to, and the gravel road leading to the place.

The location for sure. It was breathtaking, especially at night when you looked up and saw a billion stars.

There were some insects, which is to be expected, but it was also quite warm so we wanted to sleep with windows open, but that let in a lot of bugs including a spider which bit my sister. Perhaps it would be good to incorporate flyscreens, to allow for proper ventilation and allowing us to use cottage to its maximum potential.

I really loved the setting and the views from every room. The colour scheme was on par and the beds so comfy. Thank you for making the cottage so accessible for people with disablility, even a shower seat!

Well I would not say didn't like but I would have liked a more "loungy" lounge with a cough to lay down on as this setting is really relaxing. Also perhaps a lounger for outside to read ... Again not negatives just suggestions.

The setting is magical. When I say the sounds of nature is deafening in the most exquisite way. The facilities are well maintained and has everything. The views of the stars at night is great and the hikes are exceptional. WiFi works well to stay connected but I would recommend not to l, to enjoy this setting.

A couple of the gas burners didn’t work on the stove and the compost toilet took awhile to get used to, but it was all workable and didn't take away from the experience.

The views were amazing and it was so wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We loved our stay. The place has everything you need, with nice touches of some milk in the fridge and kindling ready in the braai.

No where was it disclosed that the cottage is next to the main farm house. You do not feel private and we looked forward to the views like the other cottages.

The host was very friendly.
