Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A big shout out to all the staff members. They were amazing from the time we entered to the time we left. Always asking if we needed anything. The property was well situated and secured. It was walking distance to the Canal Walk Mall. It was central so we didn’t find it difficult to drive around anywhere. It was clean and very comfortable.

South AfricaThe only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the hallway bathroom at the apartment. Since we arrived, the basin was blocked. The water in the shower hardly comes out. The bathroom needs a redo. It's a bit outdated and not properly maintained.
The service from receptionist Chad was impeccable. The apartment was quite modern and had ample space. The kitchen, lounge, and bedrooms were lovely. Parking was conveniently right in front of the hotel. Everything was within walking distance of Canal Walk.

South Africa- Guests should be informed clearly prior to arrival what to inform security when needing to enter, to avoid confusion and smoothe entry. Especially for first-time guests. - Even though there was a tv, it was quite limited with movie channels - only one option came up during our stay - the Dstv package is limited. Even though we like to break away from hustle and bustle, we like the comfort and relaxation of watching a good movie to wind down. This is our personal preference, which can be a deciding factor in choosing accommodation. This may not be a priority for others or a concern. - The shower could do with some grout cleaning to clear mold (jik/bleach) - I loved the fact that there is an indoor pool, BUT it is situated outside of the hotel. This meant we needed to walk outside to access it. Our plans to do an evening swim was scratched. We were only given an option of towels, no robes - maybe something to consider, or inform guests prior they may need their own. The air is cold at night with winter upon us, and we didn't want to go looking to be sick. Especially having to walk back outside in the cold air all wet from our swim...
We loved the location. Our car could park safely within a security manned area. Quick and easy access to Canal Walk mall. Our apartment was conveniently located, close to reception, even though there is a phone in the unit, and quick exit to the back entrance of the mall. We only had to walk across the bridge 5 minutes, and we were at the food court and all the other shops. This convenience saves time to do more fun things instead of spending time driving from one location to the next. The apartment was sufficient for our stay with a clean and fresh scent upon entry: - big bathtub, shower, tv, aircon-good working order, mini kitchenette area! Good, sufficient breakfast buffet option. Friendly staff who were welcoming and professional. Prior to and upon our arrival to reception, Lavuyo's etiquette manner was very friendly and helpful. Providing good advice and options for our stay. My request for blankets with another staff member was met with no issues. Apologies, I did not get her name. We will definitely consider staying again!

AustraliaRoom is decorated in bleak shades of grey and feels gloomy. Oversized bath in the middle of the room is very strange. The location is quiet to the point of deserted and you have to go through a security gate to get in or out.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Large room with a balcony in a quiet part of the building, which is actually an apartment block inside a gated estate.

The cold breakfast (chicken & ham) slices were tasteless. The warm bacon was hard, and the various sausages overcooked - on the whole the breakfast was not impressive and may have been so at the early start of breakfast but certainly not a hour or two later. Things had dried out, not much, if any attention given to keeping the offerings tasty.

South AfricaWe booked a mountain view room - but had a view of the parking lot. When I queried it I was told I could upgrade and pay for that. This was not good. I didn't know that the setup was such - that it was residence and apartments as well as hotel. It didn't give us the 4 star hotel experience. Just a nice room. Breakfast was pretty basic. It's a little far to get from the room to the cafe for breakfast.
