Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesWe loved everything, can't fault a single thing.
We absolutely loved everything. Attention to detail in all aspects was amazing, met by our friendly hosts who were waiting for us, room was beautifully decorated and menu was planned with great care and love. The food was amazing and we loved all the courses that was served to us. Our hosts Tracy and Johlene were so attentive and welcoming, they really made our stay. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you ladies.

United StatesExecutive suite bathroom faucet needs to be upgraded because difficult to balance hot and cold. Was not able to use private swimming pool because weather didn’t cooperate. Heated pool would be nice. Would have liked more time to tour the grounds macadamian nut trees and avocado trees. Picture of city was added in error.
Menu every day was awesome. Very accommodating with special diet requests. Ethel was excellent in service to us over 12 hours every day. The Chef made quality six course meals. Loved the personal touches. Full body massage in a separate area of the farm was beautiful. My husband fell asleep. Security guided us to our room and the lodge each evening to help us navigate the beautiful foliage and any monkeys that may have surprised us. Tracy is the best hostess. She is passionate about making sure of the five star quality experience. In the end we felt like family. There were two other couples enjoying the accommodations with us. One celebrating their anniversary and we were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday. If it weren’t for the 27 hour flight from California it would probably be an annual vacation destination.

BelgiumThe door of the private sauna did not close entirely/perfectly, which made it hard to get it heated.
Very beautiful location, away from the main road, in the middle of the plantation. The buildings are in an oasis of green, surrounded by the trees. We enjoyed sitting under the porch with a cocktail before moving to a delicious dinner. The private pool to our room was also very beautiful, sadly it was too cold to make use of it. We should come back in summer. ;)

South AfricaNo complaints.
Absolutely everything! Greeted by staff on arrival. Bags taken to our room which was spectacular. Private patio; comfy bed; large bedroom with bay window; full bathroom; cosy lounge area with fireplace and mini bar fridge and espresso machine. Most beautiful setting and gardens and the most delicious meals. The chef and menu choices - amazing. We were even given a lunch box of food and drinks to take on our tour to the Kruger National Park. This is our second time staying at this venue and we were made to feel part of the family.

United KingdomWe didn't have enough time there.
The dinner service was brilliant, the staff couldn't do more to accommodate us. We also had to leave at 5:30am but a breakfast bag was still prepared for us, they went above and beyond, it was brilliant.

NetherlandsWifi connection was sometimes not to great, but hey who needs 100% wifi all the time at this wonderful accommodation.
Accomodation, staff, service and food was beyond our expectations. A big thank you to Tracy, Johlene, Ethel, the tremendous kitchen crew, the lovely ladies from the Spa and the helpful guards escorting us to and from our accommodation every night. We mentioned the food already, chef and staff is outstanding and so is the breakfast service for those, who travel early to Kruger. Wow, what a service and really at every hour of the day. Impressive! You all made our stay unforgettable! We recommend High Grove to everybody that wants to combine Kruger with an incredible stay in probably one of the best guest houses in the South Africa!

AustraliaWish we could have stayed longer.
Location location location-Just outside Kruger in a quiet lush gated macadamia farm. Very peaceful and rejuvenating. They spoilt us with breakfast and a delicious 6 course dinner with a different menu every night. The cottages were spacious and we had a warm log fire going for some of those cold nights. We also had good wifi and drinkable tap water from their Bore well. Tracy was an excellent host very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to.Johlene efficiently managed our itinerary and pointed us in the right direction with travel advice. We will miss you both.

South AfricaThat we only got to stay 3 nights, but that was my fault really.
What can I say, the location is stunning - ancient feeling forests on the side of a valley, with our private apartment privately nestled under stunning trees with a great view. The room was perfectly appointed with a wonderfully comfortable king bed with first class linen. The bathroom too was excellent with plenty a large bath and a good shower. Of course, there was also an outdoor shower which was fun, and the private sauna was very relaxing, and a quick plunge in the private pool afterward was invigorating. The TV had all DSTV options, and I was able stream YouTube with my own account from my phone. Dinner was out of this world, 6 courses, different every night prepared by world class chefs. Breakfast too was great with freshly baked goodies, cold buffet plus hot to order, again by chefs who know how to make a perfect omelette or benedict. If you have special dietary preference/requirements, you can be assured they will exceed your expectations. On the one morning we decided to go to Kruger (30 minutes to the gate) early, and we were kindly packed a portable breakfast and met at 5:30 am with cappuccinos and needed paperwork, so we could just breeze through the gates. But probably the greatest asset High Grove boasts are well trained staff who truly do everything they can to make you stay unforgettable.

Superb breakfast out under the gazebo. Spa best treatments in a long time, and dinners really great food. The farm is just magical and it feels like you are in a fantasy world. I would not hesitate to book two or three nights here for a total relax and recovery stay away.

NetherlandsBefore we reach the hotel, we drive through the avocado and macadamia plantation that belongs to the estate. Upon arrival, Tracey, the owner of Highgrove House, is waiting for us for a warm welcome, refreshing towels and a welcome drink. Tracey passionately talks about the history of the family business and shows us the beautiful gardens and main building. You imagine yourself in a bygone era. We notice that attention to detail will be the guiding principle for our stay here when we receive a tour and are escorted to our suite. Literally everything has been thought of. Over the past few days we have been spoiled culinary and we have really enjoyed the peace and nature. Nothing was too much for the team of Highgrove. We wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll be back!
