Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaYou cannot drink the water from the taps and they charge $15EC for a water bottle (in the shops water is $7EC) for a large bottle. The coffee was also expensive, and not very good. They also have a bar but only have beer and some liquor as options.... I would plan to go into town.
We had a good stay, however our room has no AC and our neighbour had their phone going off every morning at 4am, with the windows open, it was difficult to get a good sleep. Our host was very accommodating and gave us an extra fan when we asked though.

The resort required payment up front and I still have not heard from the resort nor booking.com for a refund. The stay did not happen due to damage to the resort and lack of electricity.

United KingdomThe property is in desperate need if a revamp, good thing it was only 1 night! The host is not very welcoming. Zero points for hosting skills, maybe because she was occupied with her family that was visiting but your focus should be on your paying guest! The cleaner /assistant is a diamond (had to give her a nice tip) and should be encouraged to be front of house greeting guest.

United KingdomThe room did not have air conditioning, but it did have a powerful fan. While this was great for cooling purposes, it was also very loud, making earplugs a necessity. Bathroom was pretty basic and poorly lit. Access to the hotel was through muddy roads. While not the end of the world, it was certainly inconvenient.
Beautiful view out to the sea and access to a beach for swimming. Like most places near the beach on union island, there were a lot of sandflies, but the hotel provided an incense stick to keep them at bay.

Saint Vincent & GrenadinesThe owner was not welcoming at all, she didn’t had a friendly approach. Booked for 2 adults but brought an additional with us and wasn’t allowed to stay in one room, inconvenient us by making us pay for another room because we was not allowed a refund. Wi-Fi password was not offered to us upon entry. We had to ask for the password on the second day of our stay. The fans in the room was not giving. The road to the apartment is very bad and muddy. Wouldn’t recommend taking your vehicle. There’s a dog on the premises that’s rushing you upon entry of the premises that scared us away.
The ambience and balcony of the small room. The rooms was okay

United KingdomDilapidated, Dirty hotel, with on-site smelly bonfires continuously burning in effort to keep away horrendous sand fly problem. Owner refuses to accept payment in anything other than cash, despite booking.com ad saying credit cards accepted, and is attempting to charge twice, as she tries to claim credit card payment and then insists on cash. No open bar or restaurant- told to go elsewhere for food as it would take too long to defrost anything for dinner. Owner puts lights out and retires at dusk, and hotel is down dark dirt track a long way from anything. No wi-fi code or drinkable water available- no tea or coffee (a few tea bags, no, coffee, water, milk). Hotel water comes off roof and contains bird mess (we were told on second day), bottled water (13ec a bottle) advised but when owner retires and is uncontactable nothing whatsoever available to drink, and can’t contact outside world due to no wi-fi. Hotel is a disgrace and needs to be removed from booking.com as none of the advertised facilities are available, or are twice the price of elsewhere and are exceedingly poor.

Czech RepublicCompared to other places we stayed at while visiting Grenadines, this was definitely not good value for money. Overpriced, yet very simple, quite far from any social life, with annoying German tourists telling us what (not) to do. (Admittedly, the last part is not the fault of the hotel owners, but we were already quite grumpy about the rest and the German tourists scolding us for having a rather quite conversation on the terrace did not help.) But as for the hotel: the air-conditioning was a parody on air-conditioning (noisy and not effective); the wi-fi was a parody on wi-fi (did not work at all); and the shower was a parody on shower (the water stayed in the sink for hours, simply needs cleaning). All in all, the pictures look really great, but the reality less so. We were quite disappointed.
The location next to the beach was quite charming.

United StatesThe hotel is across a muddy dirt road from a very wild beach. We could not sit on our terrace in the afternoon or evening because there were so many biting insects. We were therefor confined to our room that had a very loud and inefficient air conditioner. TV was so small that we couldn't hear it, especially over the din of the loud AC. The owner was difficult to find. There is nothing to do in the area. Shower head was broken as was the toilet paper holder. Ceilings in the room needed plastering.
The hotel room was clean and there was a mosquito net.
