Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaIt's old and needs refurbishment badly. The lights at the corridors to your room is extremely dim that it tends to make it look creepy. Staff isn't the friendliest.
We stayed there as it's an iconic building in the city.

SwedenLike the old soviet style of the rooms, but yeah they need to be taking care more. The ground floor has been renovated and look nice and clean but the rest of the place it's very well kept although I enjoyed the experience in this iconic hotel. Breakfast wasn't super good. I would recommend it for one night stay but no longer than that!

The breakfast was fantastic, the location amazing and the price is unmatched. To stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Tashkent and to be able to stay in a hotel frozen in the Soviet era was worth every penny.

South Korea- A very old building and old-fashioned decor. I expected it and it was part of the charm, but it was to a higher degree. - The gym equipment is old and dirty. - I got stopped by security twice when coming in. I understand it is for safety reasons, but it was an uncomfortable interaction.
- Great location - close to a subway station, very central, close to great restaurants, and all locals know this hotel. - Discount on the red Tashkent City Bus. - Lively neighbourhood, but very quiet inside. - Very nice and fresh breakfast spread, including vegan options. - Clean. - 95% of the staff are friendly and helpful. Most speak English very well. - Rooms facing the square have a great view but the A/C system is old and loud. - Rooms facing the back have balconies and the view is also very nice. The A/C is modern and it doesn't make as much noise as the older ones.

The Hotel Uzbekistan is an old favourite. With many modern hotels now available in Tashkent, it is no longer a premium choice, but very comfortable and well located.

UzbekistanNo way to control the temperature if it's too hot or cold! I called down to the desk for a master because my room was quite hot, especially in the summer heat. They were able to open up the covering on the vents more which was quite dusty but did cool the room down more. Also, the doors have been painted over quite a few times and don't quite close or stick on closing.
Fun stay in an older style hotel. Hotel Uzbekistan is known by everyone and easy to get to by taxi, foot, or public transport. I really liked my room and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I think it's worth staying here for at least one night because it's kind of an 'establishment' in Tashkent.

MalaysiaThe aircond is terrible, it doesnt cool up the room and its the worst during summer. Felt like staying in a sauna room. Called the frontdesk to check but they sent a maintenance guy to come and check and didnt do much but took out a filter. The room was still hot.
The location was perfect and only a few steps away from the metro, right infront of Amir temur square. The staff at the counter speak good english which is really hard to find around central asia as majority can only speak their local language and russian. The room has all the necessities we need for a stay.

United Arab EmiratesThe room was extremely hot and the stand alone A/C machine just made a lot of noise without cooling anything down. The curtains did not close properly. Breakfast was not good with too many processed meats on offer. When I asked for butter one morning for my toast I was told it would arrive in an hour!
Location was very good. My room was clean enough but one in our groups was not plus one of their bottles of water had been opened and some of it had been drunk.

United KingdomAt no time did we have hot water in our room, although in summer the cold is actually not that cold. The pillows and the bed were very hard. If the cafe had a better atmosphere we might have had coffees in.
This is a landmark hotel it looked just like it was in Race across the world tv show. We had a large suite on the 15th floor which was expensive pro rata, but compared to our daughter’s room on the 11th was very useful as we could all sit down in comfort and relax. The breakfast had a good selection of dishes that changed daily. There is a lovely Italian type restaurant within easy walking distance. Bon coffee shops are in the area for western style coffees.
