The aircond is terrible, it doesnt cool up the room and its the worst during summer. Felt like staying in a sauna room. Called the frontdesk to check but they sent a maintenance guy to come and check and didnt do much but took out a filter. The room was still hot.

The location was perfect and only a few steps away from the metro, right infront of Amir temur square. The staff at the counter speak good english which is really hard to find around central asia as majority can only speak their local language and russian. The room has all the necessities we need for a stay.

The room was extremely hot and the stand alone A/C machine just made a lot of noise without cooling anything down. The curtains did not close properly. Breakfast was not good with too many processed meats on offer. When I asked for butter one morning for my toast I was told it would arrive in an hour!

Location was very good. My room was clean enough but one in our groups was not plus one of their bottles of water had been opened and some of it had been drunk.

At no time did we have hot water in our room, although in summer the cold is actually not that cold. The pillows and the bed were very hard. If the cafe had a better atmosphere we might have had coffees in.

This is a landmark hotel it looked just like it was in Race across the world tv show. We had a large suite on the 15th floor which was expensive pro rata, but compared to our daughter’s room on the 11th was very useful as we could all sit down in comfort and relax. The breakfast had a good selection of dishes that changed daily. There is a lovely Italian type restaurant within easy walking distance. Bon coffee shops are in the area for western style coffees.

The wifi wasn’t working in the room (for the whole 4 days of my stay) so I had to go down to the lobby all the time to send texts and work. Honestly, in 2024 this is not acceptable.

Great location, beautiful building. The staff is kind and the breakfast is an awesome experience. The top floor has a bar overlooking the whole city.

The most iconic hotel in Tashkent. Every taxi driver knows where it is, makes pick up and drop offs easy. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Our room had been newly renovated room except for the bath/shower. Beds and bed linen very comfortable. Close to Metro and parks full of large trees.

Things don’t work properly, no plugs easily accessible in the bedroom we had, not a proper gym,

Not adding to existing reviews, yes it’s old and not kept in a great shape but the experience is worth it for a flashback to old days… Special mentions to the views from the 17th floor both on the morning and evening for sunset!

    1. Dim lighting in the room - had to draw the blinds to get more light . But it was okay once your eyes got used to it . 2. Bed was a little hard but could sleep fine due to tiredness . 3. The reviews about not getting hot water are indeed true . There was no hot water flowing from the taps - but it was not cold either - so one could manage for a night !

    1. Location - proximity to Amir Temur station (3 min) + great parks and walking paths all around and some good restaurants and coffee shop close by. Close to all destinations by very moderately priced taxis through local app. 2. Room - I had a massive suite with separate living and bedroom areas with great views from the windows. All basic facilities provided. Lavish large bed. 3. The reception staff was pleasant and helpful 4. Old fashioned hotel +Large lobby with sitting area and in hotel shops and restaurant. 5. It’s an old building and I didn’t find it dirty - May be I didn’t notice . 6. I was checking out very early before breakfast started - hotel provided a generous lunch pack.

Old facilities, tiny room, smell in the corridors, breakfast below average - instant coffee, sausages for protein, no omelette station

The shops (only wanted a Simcard) wanted more than double of the regular price for much less GB... if you dont want to waste money... go to Beeline (like 10min on foot) to get a sim card. The rooms could be a bit cleanear and there was not enough hot water

Super Hotel if you want to experience some nostaligic soviet feeling. With all the positive and negative aspects of it.. but it was exactly what we thought it was and overall it was a good experience. The rooftop has a bar with an incredible view for sunsets

Having been expats for a while the disintegrating USSR, we intentionally wanted to get som nostalgic vibe from this gargatuan monstrosity. Alas, the staff was far too friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean enough for the real deal - perhaps for the better! The views from the 14th were superb, and zillions of sparrows making their dives just meters away from our window was magic.
