Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesShower curtain too short for the shower so the floor gets kinda wet.
It was very convenient to walk downtown and leave our car since everywhere you had to find and pay for parking. Every night of our stay with listened to a beautiful piano player. Our towels were changed every morning since there wasn’t a very good place to hang them. The Looking Glass Restaurant was a very short walk and wonderful breakfast.

United StatesWalk back to lower area from the bar/lounge was very dark and on the narrow road. No dinner option the days we stayed
We enjoyed the balcony off our room, which made up for no water view. The bar was nice to have and the piano music was fantastic!!! We enjoyed breakfast ( & view!) at the Looking Glass when it was open. The shuttle was a lifesaver. With cruise ships in town there is absolutely no parking so it’s nice to be able to jump on and off the shuttle and go places in downtown and around Acadia.

United StatesBathroom window needed repair, made us feel a bit insecure and open to the sidewalk just outside the bathroom. No fan in the bathroom. No pen or paper left in the room.
Balcony with ocean view was nice. Location, close to Acadia, was great. Room was clean, large, beds comfortable. WiFi was good. Nice body wash, etc. plenty of thick towels.

United StatesAccess to the property was confusing. The property is very spread out, and that is not clear at booking. Also there is no view at the "lower" rooms.
Great location, comfortable, basic rooms, very nice common spaces and extras.

Amazing location and perfect for getting to Bar Harbor and Acadia (especially Cadillac Mountain). The rooms are no frills but the beds were extremely comfortable. Perfect for a vacation where you aren’t spending a lot of time in the room.

United KingdomThe bathroom was dated, small and a bit dingy - it needs upgrading, really.
Room was basic but had everything we needed. 2 mins walk from the main hotel - The Blue Nose Hotel - where we could use the spa and pool and had a piano bar in the evenings, very nice. Easy downhill walk into Bar Harbour (although meant it is uphill to return!). A free bus service is provided though, we just chose to walk.

United StatesOur room was next to a utility room where people went in and out at all hours. It was noisy. Also, the lights were so bright that our bathroom door had to be shut at night so we could sleep.
The small balcony allowed us to sit in the morning with our coffee and plan our day.

United StatesAt first, I found it confusing to find where I check in and the drive is so narrow I thought it was a one way but it’s a two way. I also didn’t like how small the shower was. I was hitting my elbow on the shower wall while moving around to bathe myself and my face was basically smooshed onto the shower wall to avoid getting my hair wet.
The bed was so comfortable and it was relatively quiet. I wish I had more time here to try out all the fancy facilities like the piano bar and steam room. I thought the room was very nice. Very cute. I had a balcony that was cool. AC worked great.

United StatesThe vast layout of the property, often hilly, without a car, was a bit of a challenge for my husband and myself, both reasonably-in-shape seniors. (By the end of our stay, however, it did get a bit easier to navigate.) The Shuttle Bus didn't come as often as we'd hoped, and we found ourselves taking cabs to Main Street quite often. We wished that the restaurant on site was open more frequently for dinner, and also on Tuesday morning. That said- venturing more often into town put us in the position of discovering new eateries and sights that we might have overlooked had restaurant access on the property been more consistantly convenient for all meals.
The Wonder View Inn stays true to its name; the views were glorious! Our room was clean and spacious. The beds were really comfortable. Sunrise from our terrace was breathtaking. Staff onsite, including housekeeping, was excellent. Breakfast at the Looking Glass was quite good, particularly the eggs, blueberry pancakes, granola/yogurt/blueberries parfait. The servers are cordial and helpful. Dinner there, on Saturday, was also very good. My lobster dinner was wonderful. My husband's burger was overcooked, but immediately and cheerfully replaced for a perfectly prepared one when that fact was brought to their attention. The pools, both outdoor and indoor- were comfortably heated and clean. The hot tub and gym were great as well. And access to the live music piano virtuosity of Bill Trowell at the Bluenose Inn was a special treat, as my husband and I are both musicians. The chocolate margarita was heavenly:) And the souvenir shop was a delightful perk!
