Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCoffee machine in the room when a kettle would be of MUCH better use and allow teas and cocoa/hot chocolate as options. The lobby coffee shop - proud to serve Starbucks! - but ONLY 'til 11 a.m. Seriously for a coffee drinking nation it has to serve all day, every day? Having to walk the streets to find the stuff us ridiculous! The restaurant has great food but at a high price and getting charged an extra 10 bucks for each night of your stay- credited back if you use the bar - is so wrong, guests should have the option to spend their money where they want or the hotel should credit them back or, better still, withdraw the charge...that charge on top of having to tip everyone is unbelievable! Getting hot water for an early morning shower/bath proved a 'pain' too? Locks on the doors in the rest room were broken!
Couldn't have asked for a better location, Rittenberg has the shopping and City Hall, Reading Terminal Market - A MUST TO VISIT! - are just a short walk. Decent room, an open air swimming pool on the roof(8th floor) and gym. Bar and restaurant(sort of) were handy as was the snack/drink facility. Staff were brilliant and concierge excellent and helpful. I only stayed for 4 nights/5 days but found the city more 'attractive' than NYC!

United States of AmericaThe TV was small and did not have many cable options. The pool closed around 8:00pm (to early). The staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable. The fire alarm was pulled in the middle of the night. No-one from the hotel came to give us updates on the situation. Guest had to inform each other on what to do. I was charged an extra $130 at check in (not including the $150 deposit )pre authorization charge and no one was able to tell me why.
Great location, heated mirror so the whole thing didn’t fog. Decent price when booking months in advance.

United KingdomThe housekeeping were lovely but when I saw them they asked me if I needed anything and I said 'No I'm good thank you' but didn't realise that was essentially them asking if I wanted my room cleaned/made up.
Location and the room was huge! Very unexpected. I went on an event weekend and this was the most reasonably priced hotel in the city at short notice.

United KingdomOverpriced due to Wrestlemania weekend. The cost of a bottle of water was $8 so I had to go to Trader Joes to get regular priced water. The credit provided for the bar doesn't cover alcohol either.
Really enjoyable stay at the Sonesta for my first time in Philly. Great location, very close to Reading Terminal Market and all the main sites. The room was very spacious with a great view, hot shower and comfy bed. I would definitely stay here again. Staff were extremely helpful too. Room was cleaned every day to a high standard.
