It is showing its age, needs to be painted on the outside side of the railings are almost rushed through. And there are tattoos on most of the roof.

The room, linens, and bathroom were all very clean but, it is looking a little shabby, the railings rusted, and it needs paint and no tarps on the roof. But I was cool enough, it was quiet enough, and it was very well priced. I'll stay again when I'm leaving Galveston on a cruise.

I wish the breakfast had more gluten-free items. Also, the air-conditioning wasn't constant, so my husband was warm at times.

The Staff was Wonderful and made sure all my worries were gone since another hotel lost our reservation. It's perfect if you need the fairy next morning.

Old, but not horrible. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Beds were good.

The reviews are all over the place. I was starting to panic. After having stayed there, the reviews need to apply the adage "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Hotels/motels are expensive in Galveston the night before cruise departures--end of story. We paid a CRAZY amount of over $220 per room (we had 5) and in comparison to other cities, I would have expected more for this price, but I knew it was old and had read some reviews so my expectations were not that high when trying to compare prices in other cities. It was way better than some of the reviews make it sound.

I found all the rooms to be clean, but they are old. Some things have been redone like the bathrooms, but walls, doors, stairs, & rails etc are huge and extremely expensive and extensive renovations which have not been done. I work in the home building field and know these things. Do not expect a total gutted renovation to make it look like a brand new hotel. I thought the beds were nice (far better than the bed my husband & I slept on the previous week at a relative's house.) We slept well and didn't feel each other's movements. I saw a lot of complaints about the pillows?? Not sure why. They were nice. My husband would have complained and didn't. The rooms have a little kitchen area with a microwave, sink & fridge with a counter and shelf. I liked this as it was a closet on the opposite side and had a full length mirror. We were able to use it as a second bathroom sink area as there was no counter space on the pedestal bathroom sink and we had 3 of us sharing some of the rooms. Other complaints I read mentioned bugs. We saw one spider near the window in our room. This was probably because our outside door did not seal and bugs and light could come in easily, but the other rooms' doors did not have this issue. Despite this, the rooms' AC's worked well and provided a great and immediate relief from the hot, humid weather outside. I saw reviews mentioning continental breakfast vs hot breakfast. It's actually kind of both. There is a kitchen in the lobby and it is self serve. They have dried cereal, fruit, packaged danishes. There is milk and juice in the fridge. Frozen waffles for toasting and packaged oatmeal for fixing which is the "hot breakfast". Don't expect scrambled eggs & bacon. Nevertheless, it was sufficient. Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's way better than a Super 8 or Motel 6 as far as things like the beds, but realize it's old.

Not handicap accessible. The stairs are rough with luggage.

We stay here most times we come to Galveston. The shuttle owners are wonderful and a big part of why we stay here. Scottish Inn is reasonably priced and has cruise parking which is a plus. They are still recovering from the hurricane but did their best to make our stay pleasant

The rooms are outdated and it kind of smells like it. The water pressure was almost nonexistent. The breakfast if that for a child. Microwaveable waffles, some wrapped pastries and bananas. Good for a kid but not necessarily an adult. There is a Whataburger nearby so we went there instead. The courtyard echoes so you hear everything! That is also where the pool is located so you’re hearing all that as well. The ferry line is right outside the window so people blaring their music comes in as well.

It was close enough to the beach that we didn’t have to drive far. It was a comfortable place to lay our head for the night. No bells or whistles or anything like that. The pool was nice!
