To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOnly things I didnt like was waiting for the elevators because they have so few elevators compared to the volume of people they get. Also the room view was a little disappointing, thought it would actually see Times Square but instead you just saw roofs to other skyscrapers
The room was clean, didnt feel dirty to me or my wife. Very convenient location for the hotel when traveling to NY via train. Staff was friendly and helpful both checking in and out. Would absolutely reccomend to anyone visiting the city

United States of AmericaFor a family of 4 with 4 pieces of luggage, the queen 2 bedroom was very small. We were constantly bumping into each other, and the bed frame and our feet were hitting the luggage. The bathroom is okay since there is no ventilation system, so be careful about what you eat, as the room can get smelly fast in the morning. The rooms need an upgrade, as I noticed some peeling paint or wallpaper, and the bathroom grout was dirty and turning black. Overall, the rooms are small, and the bathroom needs a ventilation system. Upgrading them would easily make this hotel a 5-star property.
The location is excellent, close to Times Square and 42nd Train Station. Friendly staff and good restaurant on site. The check-in was quick and we were on our way to room on the 9th floor. The lobby was clean and was taken care of by staff.

CanadaSecured locker was broken and non-functional. Carpets all over the room. Breakfasts are OK at best; you cannot serve yourselves drinks and coffee; food choices are limited.
Location is absolutely excellent. Rooms are clean and beds are confortable. There is a micro-wave and a small fridge which is appreciated if you want to cut a bit on food expenses.

United States of AmericaSecurity wouldn't let us in the building along with a couple. The guard pointed to a sign and we thought he meant another entrance. After walking the block and not seeing anything, I called the hotel. The security STILL didn't let us in and we only got in once someone was coming out. ALL WHILE the guard sat and looked directly AT US!! Our shower was backed up and needed maintenance to unclog the drain. The water took 8 minutes to heat up for a shower and for the sink.
The front desk customer service was superb. They were super friendly and helpful. I appreciate all of them and their work ethics! The location is close to everything near Times Square and Bryant Park is a block away. There are PLENTY of food places and the subway is at the end of the block.
