An enchanting village and the way of life of seaweed farmers a few steps from your accommodation. The room is spacious with wooden furniture. The management is fantastic and staff top-notch — very friendly and willing to help with anything. The hotel sits atop a hill with gorgeous ocean views and beautifully manicured grounds. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning overlooking the ocean. The room I stayed in was spacious, very clean and conformable with nice fixtures. It is a pleasant two minute walk through the village to get to the ocean side bar and restaurant and the amazing Zanzibar beaches. There was an oceanside seafood bake which was very good. As for Wi-FI I saw some reviews here mentioning issues. During my stay this wasn’t a problem for me; there were strong signals in the common area which is near the rooms. I easily checked email etc over meals or a drink. Will be back!

I know it’s probably difficult to get fresh water on the island, but I would have liked the shower water to be less salty.

The staff was friendly. The property is very pretty. They gave us a tour of the property and took us down to the beach bar that is associated with the hotel since it is not beach front, but I just a short walk to it. There were towels and lounge chairs for the hotel guests on the beach. There was a set menu and also a special menu that was changed daily for new options. There is happy hour on drinks from 5-7pm. Great value for your money.

We had an amazing stay! The view from the restaurant every morning at breakfast was breathtaking, the pool was nice, the rooms were very clean and everyone that works at Zan View made our stay very special! Special thanks to Abu and Abdul for showing us the island, taking us everywhere safely and with good music :-).

Very friendly staff, they helped us a lot with any question we had - booked horse, assisted with driving licence, renting a motorbike etc. The room was very clean. Beach bar also amazing. Breakfast was very tasty and abundant.

The pool isn’t that big, and the depth isn’t friendly for non-swimmers and those who are still learning how to swim. Neverthless, we still enjoyed the pool with the help of the floats. 😁

It is a great place for relaxation. The staff are exceptional, of all the hotels I’ve been at Zanzibar, I never had such a wonderful encounter with the staff. The owner, Virginia, had been very accommodating and considerable. Check out time is 11am but she considered our request to stay until 2pm. Very good buffet breakfast to start the day.

I loved my stay at Zan View Hotel. The staff was very helpful throughout our journey, always ready to accommodate us and very friendly. The location is perfect for someone looking for a quiet and calm area. I was happy to go through the village to get to the beach, it allowed me to meet wonderful people and to get in touch with the local culture. I booked most of my activities through the hotel and it went very well. I would gladly stay there again if I ever go back to Zanzibar!

We loved it here so much we extended our stay. Nice big rooms, well kept and clean hotel and pool. Good breakfast included. I love the granola! Beach bar/restaurant is cool extension from the hotel. Friendly neighbours as we walk through the local village to the beach, 3 mins. Pool towels and towels at the beach, very convenient. The breeze at the hotel is nice on a hot afternoon. Epic sunrise views on this coast. We rented a scooter from the hotel and they arranged the scooter permit which is valid for a while not just the 1 day. We have stayed at 7 different places on Zanzibar over the years and can say that for this price, you won't find a better option. Highly recommend.

Everything and everyone. Had a very lovely stay, during the week days I worked and there are so many spaces you can use outside plus a dip in the pool in between meetings was just great. Delicious breakfast, lovely staff- you really feel well taken care of.

We had an absolutely lovely time in Zan View! The place is beautiful and nicely decorated with a cosy, friendly and safe atmosphere. The rooms are nice and well equiped with an airconditioning, fridge and bathroom. The pool is great and there are many sunbeds (with towels) and cosy sitting places available over the entire area. The private beach is lovely and only 2 minutes walking from your room. The beach bar has many drinks, snacks and food and here are also free sunbeds available. The breakfast was extensive and very good, as well as the food (and the view) at the restaurant and at the beach bar. We tried many different dishes over our stay and they were all delicious. The working staff is absolutely amazing, provides all the information you need and works really hard to make your stay perfect! They are all so friendly and make you feel at home immediately. The place has all the luxury you need but you also get a chance to live close to the locals and experience their lifestyle, which we appreciated over big, unpersonal resorts. It is a really unique spot and we can only recommend it to spend some fantastic vacation days!

It was a charming little hotel giving you a sense of privacy. The rooms were nice and clean, not too big not too small. The beach was close and the staff exceptionally friendly. It was nice that you were not confined to a big resort, but could easily walk around to the village and try local food.

Amazing place with lovely people. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a wonderful location one minute from the beach. The view from the breakfast is breathtaking. Staying at the hotel felt like a family member. When a problem happened, I was served in a professional manner. The hotel is a unique place and you will remember its people for a long time 🙂

One thing that could be better was the way coffee was served. I was delicious cos it was from so called moka pot but there were only two pots and it meant that on some days I had to wait waaay to long for my morning coffee.

Hotel was exactly how I expected, pictures didn't lie. Personel was genuinely nice and friendly. Very nice beach bar with sunbeds and complimentary fresh fruit juice once a day. Breakfast was mainly local fruits and something sweet like crepes or waffles + sometimes something savoury like sandwich. Egg dishes could be ordered from menu. I was very happy that there were no extra charges for sunbeds for hotel guests, porterage or late check-out. Hotel isn't directly on the beach, but the very short walk throught the village isn't a problem. Another plus is the distance to local shop - it's like 70 meters from hotel entrance.

Zan View in my opinion is outstanding, because of its management & staff team, its authentic interior design and cleanliness and its location. In Zanzibar people are super friendly in general, friendliness and service-orientation of the whole team was exceptional and far above expectation (am travelling to Zanzibar since 2008). Located on top of a small hill, with stairways down to Kairo village and the hotels private beach stretch,it is a georgeous combination of hotel privacy and local village.
