Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesI think the google maps doesn't show the exact location, we had to figure it out by ourselves initially!
Amazing place to stay and chill, to have a relaxed vacation. The beach is right in front of you, we woke up to the sunrise every single day. The restaurant has amazing and kind staffs, they were very helpful to us. It was our honeymoon vacation and we enjoyed staying there! The receptionist girl was really sweet and welcoming, then we met the owners who were so nice, we met their dogs (adorable)!!! I loved the south Zanzibar the best, so this room played a good part for us got visit all the near by places like page and the most beautiful MAALUM Zanzibar.

GermanyI did not like he breakfast. I believe in that area they can do better since it is a very manageable for the number of rooms hey have. for the Sense is no ideal and also for swimming in the ocean as the ice are low during the day. Butt for relaxation and walk on the beach its is PERFECT.
My stay was short but I enjoyed it. The rooms are need and clean. I did love he fact that they did no have loud music so you can really zen out.

GreeceAll is fine with the hotel. Is a little bit pricey (compared to other establishments), but it is understandable following the increased rates for accomodation in Zanzibar. All fine and for sure a re-visit is necessary.
The breakfast was very decent. Even if it was pre-arranged with specific plates all were fresh and cooked on the spot. We even requested on our departure date an early provision and the hotel helped us and opened the kitchen 30-min earlier to assist us.

United StatesSometimes the wifi can be a bit spotty, but that’s pretty typical for Tanzania, it seems. They have two routers to help with the issue, so I was able to still get some things done, thankfully. The wait time for food after placing an order was a bit long- I waited 30 mins for some masala chips at one point, so just be prepared if you’re hungry.
It’s a nearly brand-new property, so everything is in great shape. The pool was pristine, the bed comfortable, and the location perfect. The staff was also amazing! The family who owns it stays on site and are super friendly and lovely to talk to. The food was really yummy also! Would absolutely stay here again and look forward to my return!

Everything! We are very happy with our stay here. This hotel has an amazing view! They are situated on a private little cove. It's so quiet here, it feels like you have the resort all to ourselves. A special shout out to Clyde and family and the staff at Mahi Mahi for taking such good care of us. The room is new and clean, bed is comfy and wifi works well. They clean the room daily which is really nice. The food in the restaurant is really good. You really don't need to go anywhere else. We love watching the tide changes every morning after breakfast and walking the sea bed (must do). You won't get this anywhere else. The sea recedes up to at least 2km. We booked a Dhow cruise from the front desk and it was MAGICAL! When you are on the Dhow sailing the ocean is when you truly appreciate the beauty of Zanzinbar! It's spectacular. It's also easy to walk the beach to nearby resorts and restaurant. Couple of nice bars and restaurants within a 10mins walk. Easy and nice to explore Jambiani. We would totally recommend this hotel.

NetherlandsOnly one thing I would advise them, to also get thinner pillows for belly sleepers like my daughter and I. That’s the only thing that could change.
Everything was exactly as promised in the reviews and shown on the website. This family run hotel does everything to make your stay pleasant, we went shrimp fishing at night, they set up a tent for our son, there was live music. The rooms are beautiful and bliss, with great balconies, the surroundings are overwhelming, so incredibly pretty with these giant differences in tides, pictures you have never seen before. The swimming pool area is great, and when it rains you can still sit outside in the restaurant area.

SingaporeThe whole team here was great, the family that owns and operates this hotel is extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Joseph, Aaron, Brandon, and Clyde are all great, and Sifa, the general manager, is an absolute star. The restaurant staff are also fantastic, in particular Gordi, who took very good care of us and made sure we were comfortable. The whole team was super flexible and went above and beyond to make us feel right at home and no request was too troublesome or inconvenient for them. Thank you to the entire team for including my friends and I in the Mahi Mahi family!

QatarWould have been a 10 out of 10, but to be fair to other travelers coming a few things to note. Water was not hot every morning, we enquired and were told that the geyser needs to switched off after use and back on 15min before use again. This practice never really work. Finally, breakfast options were a bit scant and is a bit disappointing in comparison to the great food the restaurant was capable of. Maybe a rethink of the current options as the only real worthwhile option was the Buddha bowl? Otherwise nothing to complain about.
Wonderful stay. Can’t complain, as my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the accomodation, the beautiful and secluded beach on the doorstep, the lunch/dinner menu options, privacy, silence and comfort. Shoutout to the chefs (Freddie and the shy lady, can’t remember her name) as the food was the best we’ve ever had on a holiday in any country - outstanding quality, flavor and fresh ingredients. Perfect place for a quiet getaway with some of the most accommodating and friendliest hosts we’ve encountered. Come here if if your plan is to relax and enjoy the beautiful blue ocean and serenity. We will be back.
