Our stay at Jua Retreat was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of service that sets a new standard for excellence. Amazing place, felt like being in paradise. Staff, lead by Hassan, is very helpfull and always there to service you to the maximum. With only 8 guest in total it's always feels like a private resort. From here you can relax, go for a walk or go for any excursion. The standard of food is excellent, always multiple options and definitely like you would get in a good restaurant. The extra's like the spa service is a very nice extra.

Jua offered bike rental during booking and I ticked yes. The day I arrived I asked for a bike and they said they would sort it. I haven't got a chance to ride a bike before I checked out. When bike rental was offered and taken, it should be honored.

I like a quiet and isolated place and Jua has met my requirements. Paid a lot but loved it.

Everything was incredible! The views were stunning, room was unbelievably comfortable and the staff were the cherry on the cake! We had a truly amazing stay! Jua is quiet and secluded, with plenty of space and privacy throughout the whole property. Meals were delicious and a great size and were always served with a smile. Massages were very relaxing and the on site shop and tailor made some beautiful bags to measure for us.

We absolutely loved our stay at Jua Retreat. Villas are beautiful and the bed is probably the largest we have ever slept in. Views are breathtaking - surrounded by nature and sea. Hassan and his team make sure that they make your stay memorable through their personalised service and nothing is ever an issue, they made us feel special through entire stay. Food is made fresh specifically for you and the choice is great - Breakfast was especially delicious! We loved the jams and home made pastry which changed every day, you could also get your "starter" breakfast including juices, coffee, home made pastries, yogurt, muesli and fruits to your villa porch every morning. My favourite part of the day! Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking to be pampered and relaxed in beautiful and very private surroundings.

This is not your usual hotel on the beach. This place is a mix between luxury and living in nature surrounded by beauty. I spent 3 nights of my honeymoon there, which was magical. You have your privacy, and the service is top-notch. The staff there are super friendly and accommodating, and they make you feel at home, Emanuel Hassan Jamal and the rest of the staff will always make you feel special . The food there is some type of fine dining on the beach we looked forward to every and each meal as they were delicious. And every morning, you will wake up to find coffee and amazing cookies at your door, which was incredible. Thank you all for making our trip so magical

You are far away from big tourist spots and therefore you are able to experience a unique stay. The food is amazing and they try to fulfill every wish you have. All in all this is a place where you can recharge your batteries habe the best time of your life!

Friendly & cool staffs. We really can’t forget the memories with our friends Jimmy, Musa, Omar & Hassan. Miss them already! All the food was amazing. Special thanks to the chefs. We’ve enjoyed the snorkeling as well. The resort was kinda blocked from the outside so it gave us a feeling of complete rest. And we liked all the details of facilities.

Jua is not an ordinary, though charming resort. It is more and far better described as an amazing experience for your senses! The views, the position, the sounds, the food, the ladies and gentlemen who take good care of all your needs! Everything is just wonderful and a true immersion in nature! Nothing we did not like but just more of a comment on food - it would be amazing to incorporate more of the local food in the daily menus. During our 4 nights stay, there was only 1 night that was “Swahili night”, and being the Swahili night we were excited to try the local food and we thought it would be more special or there will be more preparation in some way to showcase the local food, however we were served an underwhelming sharing platter. On all other days and nights the food was amazing especially the salads. Not much seafood options also although being in an island you would expect that seafood would be the superstar of the menu.

The villas are very spacious and has everything you will need and more for a comfortable stay. We never had any issue at all. We loved that it is very traditional and open yet still offers high level of privacy. I was a bit worried about the open bathroom initially, but this was a non-issue. The bed was the biggest bed we’ve ever seen but also very cozy and comfortable. We loved the small pool in the villa terrace and the beds/loungers just outside the villa where you can just laze the day away or just stargaze at night. The villas were also cleaned daily and there is also a turndown service at night. The staff were very helpful and friendly - not in an intrusive way but in a very discreet, polite manner. The big common pool was also amazing, we spent a lot of time here to just chill and enjoy. The beach/sea was also fantastic - it’s not really a beach where you get a wide sandy beach - but in that way it is unique - we loved both when it’s high and low tide and the transition in between. When it’s high tide, the views from the villas or from the restaurant is amazing and the sounds of the waves are soothing, but when it’s low tide then you can go for a walk, see birds, and just explore that stretch of the coastline. In between the high tide and low tide when the water is not too high and just starting to recede, you can just sit by the sea and enjoy the views which are magnificent. Food as well is amazing. We were not served anything that we did not like and the portions were big enough. The all inclusive package was well worth the price - you get any food or drink you wish for, anywhere in the property (or even outside as we went for a tour very early morning and requested for our breakfast to be packed and the staff very happily obliged) and at any time of day. There is a lounge area in the restaurant hut where it is also very nice to relax and drink wine and read a book.

Staff - Hassan, Musa, Emmanuel & Jamal were amazing hosts. Always made our stay there very comfortable with lovely stories. They tought my partner Swahili which was quite funny. They are very helpful already ready to help when called upon, and honored all of our wishes. Mr.Hassan organized a few surprises for me together with my partner which were executed to perfection! Food - The food at Jua is amazing, very exquisitely presented and served professionally. The menu is simple and not too crowded making it easy to make decisions on meals. They serve a proper 3 course meal at dinner and we literally loved and tried every single item on the menu the days we were there. Even their cutlery is elaborate and cute. Views - FANTASTIC. Location - Jua is not a busy hotel, it's very very intimate and offers access to a mostly private beach with very few tourists activities. Which is great if you want a true private retreat experience. Thanks for the lovely stay! Definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!

The pressure of the water in the dush could be stronger

Very tranquill retreat, you can feal very private. Phantastic staff, every wish was filled. Delicious food, big portions, fine cocktails, good beer and wine. No mosquitos! Beatiful garden, very good private plunge pool, but the big pool and the sea are fine as well.
