Everything was great! We wish them well!

Our stay was exceptional in all areas. The hotel is small enough to feel cosy and give a sense of being able to get away, and the facilities were great. We enjoyed the pool, the ability to have meals on our balcony (at no extra cost) and the view from our room, plus the curtains meant if you just used the fan (not ac) the room was pitch black dark at night! The hotel is located just down a very beautiful beach from The Rock restaurant which is well worth a visit. The staff were so welcoming and responsive, and provided a very personalised experience. We were also adopted by the hotel cat, Luna, who we loved. We miss her!

Hekaya zanzibar was EXCEPTIONAL. apart from my beautiful room ,the views ,the food , THE HIGHTLIGHT IS THE STAFF- Jacqueline, Mohammed,Hakeen ( both Male bar staff) makes this establishment stand out like no other. I had an emergency during my trip and the staff were there by my side helping me resolve my issue. Attention to detail is emaculate from room cleaning to turn downs . They make you feel like royalty . 10/ 10 for the staff . Thank you

By far the most amazing place to stay in Zanzibar. Hidden by palmtrees you can sit quietly, enjoying the beautiful ocean. The ocean is very nice and warm. There are some fish to see from the beach. There are plenty of small boats bringing you to the Blue Lagoon for proper snorkling.

Hekaya far exceeded our expectations. Amazing location on the beach, superb and spacious rooms, beautiful gardens immaculately maintained, super clean swimming pool and best of all....the staff. Big shout out to the bartender/waiter - Mohammed - he was superb. And Jackline went above and beyond for us during our stay. She facilitated a late check-out for us as we had a night flight. Many thanks to both Jackline and Mohammed - you guys are the best. I can't wait to return next year. This hotel has inspired me to build my retirement home in the same style and layout.

Everything. The beachfront location, the lovely pool and gardens, the large rooms with patios overlooking the ocean. The way the Swahili styled hotel bender in with the trees it was very private and peaceful too. Short walk to the rock restaurant. But above all, the staff. They were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for them

Approach Road is in a shocking state of disrepair, but only makes the arrival inside the property all the better!

Beautiful property right at the beach very close to The Rock. Great location to do the blue lagoon boat trip and also to see the starfishes. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food was freshly made and in big portions for a very good price. The atmosphere is serene in this place, perfect for relaxing days.

A few sun umbrellas by the pool would be great ... however since there is only 5 rooms in the whole resort, it's never vey crowded and we loved it!

Wonderful location, sea-view, outstanding African facilities, just 5 minutes away from the Rock restaurant but also with very good own kitchen. A lot of nice and comfy corners to just rest and do nothing. Great for a three to five days stay with or without family.

Fabulous hotel, great location! Staff is amazing and looks after all your needs! The beach is picture perfect and Jackline is a great manager ! All future beaches in life will be benchmarked to this one!

Honestly nothing.

We had a fantastic time at Hekaya. Geoffrey and his team gave us a warm welcome and we had a great room with ocean view. The restaurant was very good and we loved the food, breakfast was served to order with everything you could possible ask for. Disuwa made the best cocktail we had all over Zanzibar and we had a great time at the pool and the bar with the team‘s attentive service. Jackline was available via what’s app the entire time. John, the gardener, gave us a lovely tour through his garden and you could see how much pride he takes in his job. The hotel is located directly on the beach and next to the rock restaurant, wonderful & quiet. From the hotel we took a 15mins drive to paje beach and also were able to explore a spice farm and visit a cave.

We had a wonderful 4 days at Hekaya Zanzibar and we loved every minute. Perfect place to stay in Zanzibar. Located right on the beach and only minutes away from the world famous Rock Restaurant. Our chef prepared really delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The portion were very big, fresh and tasty and not expensive. We had a fantastic staff: Jackline the manger was very friendly and helpful. Great bartenders: Diswa was so much fun and Mohammed made fantastic margaritas. We had a super fun Maasai dance one evening right in the lobby of our hotel. A nice and Maasai security guard was on the property at all times. Very safe place. We had a nice big room with AC and a porch facing the ocean. John the gardener showed us his beautiful plants and he even made my wife a name bracelet for only five dollars. Everything was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves in the wonderful clean pool.

We had zero dislikes

We stayed in Hekaya for 5 nights and could not have enjoyed it more, it was honestly one of the nicest places we have stayed. The staff were so friendly, attentive and good fun. Activities were arranged for us on request with a driver we really liked. The food was delicious with very generous portions. Our room looked out on the beach and could hear the tides coming in and out from our bed. We were a stone's throw away from the rock restaurant. We are already planning a return visit, it's the most perfect place to unwind.

Everything was perfect - the room was charming, clean and comfortable. The location was stunning with the beach right in front. The staff were friendly and attentive. John the gardener had done a fantastic job of the beautiful garden. Breakfast each morning served on my balcony overlooking the beach was a real highlight. Highly recommended!
