Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThey offer a paid shuttle service from either Xincheng or Hualien station and to Hualien train station or airport, but it’s too infrequent. We had to take a local bus on our way in from Xincheng station as a result, and wish the staff would have been a bit more helpful with providing info on transportation options when we inquired prior to arrival. Buffet dinner at Wellesley was just okay for the price.
Its convenient location at the terminus of bus line 302 and tourist bus 310 makes the trip from the train station to this hotel totally worth it. We were able to enjoy a couple of the more popular sites earlier/ later in the day and avoid tour groups. Baiyang trail can be reached on foot from the hotel and perfect for an early morning hike. The surroundings are spectacular, and we enjoyed the complimentary happy hour in the lounge and soaking in the outdoor hot tubs in the evening surrounded by the gorge. The room and hotel interior were really nice, breakfast was tasty, and the service was excellent.

United StatesI wish they had a sauna open without charge for short amounts of time. They have sauna rooms but you have to book them for 90 minutes with a fee. Why not have one sauna room where you can go in for less time and not book? Their dinner buffet had excellent variety but I found the quality lackluster for the price
One of the nicest hotels I’ve been at. Location is unmatched. Clean and nice facilities, excellent amentities and the outdoor pool and hot tub is amazing

United StatesBed positioning of two beds in room as too congested with one side of one bed jammed up against a window and one side of the second bed jammed up against a wall. This layout ruined what would otherwise have been an attractive room.
Buffet dinner second to none, ditto the breakfast. Very pleasant public areas. Good location.

United StatesNothing, this hotel was exceptional!
This place is incredible! The staff are so kind and helpful and most speak great English. They also helped us arrange and book a private tour of Taroko Gorge with an English speaking tour guide. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the beds were fabulous. We stayed in the King Suite and the turn down service will make up an extra bed for the kid(s). And the items they provide for kids are so thoughtful (like a kid robe, slippers, step-stool for the sink, juice boxes, yummy healthy snacks, and a balloon animal!). And the kid play area is epic!! The pools and hot tubs, both inside and out, are amazing and so welcoming after exploring around Taroko Gorge. The sauna room and experience is amazing- definitely book time for this. The buffet dinner and breakfast are delicious!! Such a variety of cuisine, we really enjoyed it. The other restaurant across from the buffet with a menu was ok, but we preferred the buffet so we could sample everything. The hotel also provides night time entertainment with great singers and nightly movies. The are so many wonderful, thoughtful touches in the rooms and throughout the hotel that they have thought of that this review would turn into multiple paragraphs to share them all! This place is quality and you pay for it, and it’s absolutely worth it. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

AustraliaOnly issue we experienced when first checking in was the bath tub wasn't clean and other people's hair was inside which is disappointing for the money you spend here
Right in the heart of Taroko gorge and our room looked directly into it. Pool and facilities were top notch

United StatesNothing.
The hotel is so nice, from the check in, the rooms, the thoughfulness of all the kid-friendly touches (kid slippers and robes, a step ladder inside our room bathroom, and complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste for our little one) to the facilities. We all loved our stay and can't wait to go back! The kids absolutely loved the kids' club, the play area is exeptional, perfect for families with young kids.

SingaporeUnfortunately, the traditional live song session ended early due to rain. Some of the play room games (e.g. online games) are not available due to paid subscription. Some activities are only available at weekends although the hotel was full during our weekday stay.
The traditional live song session around the fireplace daily at 8.30pm. The play room for both adults and kids including sports like tennis and table tennis.
