Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

CanadaSince my Mandarin is limited a map would have been nice of the town. It's such a small place but I would like to hear what the hostel owners recommend foodwise!
Great little hostel in the town of Chishang. The location is walkable from the train station and it's nice and quiet at night. The rooms and facilities are clean and they have a nice lounge area. Chishang is a must visit city and this hostel is great for a night or two.

Very cosy and comfortable home stay! Friendly and warm staffs who helped me for all the questions including my hiking trip in Qilai. They shared with me the local fruits as well. There were bicycles for me to travel through the city! It is all worth for stay!!

TaiwanThe shared showers on the second floor do not have a separate dry area to change and the shower rooms themselves are not very big. I feel like the price of the room is high considering the limited amenities and the shared bathroom situation. The room had a rack to hang clothes but no hangers. There was not much floor space considering it was a triple and there was only two of us.
The location is close to the Chishang train station and the famous Fu Yuan tofu shop. The staff was all very nice. We stayed in a triple room on the ground floor, which was pretty clean. They offer free coffee and tea in the lobby, and have a water machine to fill water your own water bottle/thermos.

TaiwanWhen I opened my container, I noticed the mattress covering was pretty dirty- definitely wasn’t changed. The sleeping containers got really really hot at night, even with the fan blowing on maximum level. They were also definitely not soundproof, despite the label. I could hear the other guest snoring very clearly. The shower/toilet stalls were extremely small, it was very difficult move around in.

The staff was incredibly friendly and even offered fruits to us in the evening. While the space was small, it met all our needs. There was also quaint eating areas around the space so definitely a good find.

United States- Tiny disposable towels were all that was offered for showering and they did not dry very well at all - The kitchen was very, very dirty. I only microwaved some food, but there was trash and old food and dirty dishes everywhere. It's strange because the rest of the facilities seemed quite clean - The location is very quiet and quaint, but it's about a 10 minute walk from convenience stores, restaurants, and the train station - The price is higher than I would have liked to spend for what you get

I stayed one night and it was fine. I stayed in a capsule. The staff were friendly. They offered to let me use their scooter for free. The hostel is close to the centre. Visiting the tourist locations requires a bike, scooter or similar. Chishang is renowned for touring on bike and there are bike routes. You could walk around.

NetherlandsIt's a bit steep for what you get and it does get pretty warm in the capsule, even with the fan etc on.
A short walk from the train station, this capsule hostel is clean and the people working there are nice. The capsules look like they came straight out of a Star Wars movie.
