Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UzbekistanYou have to get up and down a lot to get to places but it's not a big deal. I just think while booking there should be a section that says if the hotel is located uphill, especially for Istanbul hotels.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good room, clean.

United Arab EmiratesWe were given a room on another building, just opposite the hotel and there's no lift/elevator. We were given the top floor, so 4 floors up. The blanket was very thin.
Decent size of the room, clean, and comfortable bed with a sea view. Walking distance to all tourist spots, closest tram station is Çemberlitas and Sultanahmet. AC worked well, good water pressure and heater. Soap, shampoo, body wash was provided, sufficient supply of towels and slippers. All the guys at the reception are very nice and friendly. Good wifi. There's a kettle in the room but no mugs/cups but you can get paper cups at the reception with some coffee or tea. A lot of restaurants, shops, and groceries around the area.

SerbiaThe first room that I stayed in when I arrived was very nice, and big, but ac didn't work. They moved me to another room, which I'm grateful for since temperatures were very high, but the second room was much smaller and natural lightning wasn't there.
I liked the location and the staff, very polite people, and always wanted to help.

United KingdomNeighbour hood is a dump - big bins that smell nearby. Lots of litter. Property had been recently renovated so was very new and clean. Bathrooms were tiny - I would not move in it.
Reasonably priced - very close to blue mosque, walk was on cobbled stones and uphill - very tough on your knees.

United KingdomThere were no mugs in the room, and I'm not that keen of drinking out of paper cups. We stayed from Mon to Sat and the room was only cleaned once - on Friday. Didn't bother me, so I'm not complaining here, but the description said daily room cleaning, so I think those two should be aligned - probably correct the description. Stairs would be a challenge for elderly persons, or someone not very fit. It was a challenge after a long day of walking the hills of Istanbul. Toothbrush holders in the bathroom would be handy, but again, it's not an issue.
We loved the location of the hotel. It is near all the key visiting places, if you are semi fit, you can walk to many places. Also, public transport is readily available and accessible, albeit you need to climb a few hills to get there. The staff at the hotel were lovely, always happy to help. We stayed in "new" building which has only a few appartments, but downside of it was an extremely loud entrance door - we could hear it shutting on the second floor, then extremely steep stairs and no lift. While daily use of them for us was just fine, I would not be able to deal with suitcases on those stairs, so admire waiting boys who helped us on the arrival and after check-out to take suitcases to the taxi. Air-conditioning worked perfectly, but we also loved keeping the balcony door open for fresh air. The room was a really good size. Nice size bathroom, which requires some final touches. Toiletries were available, and in sufficient quantities, I had my own shampoo, but I used hotel shower gel, and it smells lovely. Great water pressure, which is always a challenge in small hotels! Beds and pillows were comfortable, and the sofa to sit and relax on was very handy. Great lighting arrangement in the room! Telly was decent size. Slippers were provided - nice touch - but the floor was clean and comfortable to walk on with bare feet. Very, vey good WiFi everywhere - even in the rooms - so Kudos for that. We only ate breakfast at the hotel on the first morning, it was quite basic, but everyone could find something they liked. Overall, I'd say we would be happy to return to this lovely small hotel.

Comfortable unostentatious small hotel with authentic Turkish decor, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and fairly modern, beds comfortable. All we needed! Situated in a really convenient area near to major attractions, 10 min walk to tram Station (up a steep hill). Recommend Bosphorus boat trip 1.5hr for 150 lira from ferry port.
