Pool area is extremely small and only a fraction of the pool gets the sun early. Only a few sunbeds which are old and broken. The stairs leading up to the balcony room are a death trap.

The views from the top of the hotel were out of this world. Excellent location aswell, right in the middle of Goreme, plenty of shops and restaurants within 2 minute walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The balcony room was amazing.

This Hotel is Exceptional, we had the most amazing time staying here on a 3 night trip. We stayed in the balcony room and the views were breathtaking especially for the views of the hot air balloon’s. The staff are fantastic and really went out of their way to look after us. I would highly recommend staying here it was perfect.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Shoestring Cave Hotel in Cappadocia! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcomed and taken care of. My flight was delayed by several hours, but Omid went above and beyond to make sure I got to the hotel safely. He reassured me during the whole process and was incredibly kind when I finally arrived late at night. Knowing I hadn’t eaten in hours, he showed me where I could get food and shared so much useful information about Cappadocia—his help really made my trip stress-free. Another standout was Yalçın. After my incredible balloon ride, he was so helpful and even offered to take photos of me on the hotel’s rooftop. As a solo traveler, I couldn’t have captured those beautiful moments without his help! He was so kind and even introduced me to his adorable cat, which added a warm, personal touch to the experience. The hotel itself was stunning. My room was comfortable and beautifully designed, the facilities were top-notch, and the breakfast was just superb—such a vast selection of hot and cold food, along with various juices to choose from. Every part of my stay exceeded expectations. I 100% recommend Shoestring Cave Hotel, especially for solo travelers. The staff really go the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable!

I think we stayed in the cheapest room admittedly, but It wasn’t that nice and the bed wasn’t too comfy but still very manageable. The pool isn’t great, albeit there are nice views of Goreme from the bar next to it.

The staff really made it. They’re really attentive and very helpful. They sorted all of the trips for us. A special shout out for their integrity as we pre booked the balloon and they made sure we got an €80 refund as the price changed. The structure of the hotel is fantastic and across about 3-4 floors. All very open with great views. Their terrace gives brilliant views of Goreme and of the balloons. Location is excellent.

Couldn’t fault anything

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked the balcony room and I couldn’t recommend it more, the view of the hot air balloons every morning was unmatched. The hotel has so many terraces for viewing the balloons aswell if you don’t have a balcony in your room. The pool was great, and always had sun beds available. The location was amazing, in the centre of goreme, the landscapes are amazing and you have a great view of these from all over the hotel. The staff were the friendliest we have ever encountered, they were so helpful, and always there to answer any questions. The breakfast was really good also, the bar had a good range of food too. This was honestly a once in a lifetime holiday in a bucket list destination, and the hotel just made the stay perfect.

I think the rooms can get air-conditioning installed. We struggled a bit sleeping in the hot room.

Room was too tired with bits of debris constantly falling on us. We were on the top floor by the pool. It was very very noisy until late so we couldn't relax in our room.

Very good location in Goreme. Hotel staff helped to arrange balloon flight for next day at good price after ours was canceled. Excellent breakfast. Nice pool and poolside bar. Rooms very interesting in cave. Great view from the top terrace to watch the balloons.

Nothing really. We love this hotel :). I guess the only thing is rooms that are built into caves at these unique cave hotels inevitably have very little ventilation. The room we stayed in only had one window so it got that damp smell the whole time, but it isn't something you can fix if you want to stay in cave rooms. If you're sensitive to smells, perhaps request a room with more than one window, which seems to be located at the very top.

Location, very close to Cappadocia downtown. A great friendly travel agent right next to it. Uniqueness, very beautiful setting and a great rooftop spot to watch the balloons in the morning. Having a pool was amazing especially in the hot summer.

The cave house sealed our Cappadocia dreamy experience. Location was perfect to take a lazy stroll to the town center of Goreme and the balcony was just right on to see the balloons in the morning. Our room gave us that cave feel but with the comforts of a hotel. Super love this cave house.

The property is quite loud, we had to tell the neighbours to quieten down. Rooms were also quite warm in summer - understood regarding no aircon.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and even surprised us with an upgrade to an amazing and very comfortable suite. Sleeping in a cave suite was an unforgettable experience and exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel’s location was perfect, close to restaurants, shops and points of interest. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a great variety of options to suit all tastes. Staying at this hotel added an extra layer of magic to our visit to Cappadocia. It was difficult to stay cool in our room without any ventilation.

We enjoyed the fabulous terrace views of the hot air balloons at sunrise. The cave room was a unique and authentic experience. The breakfast was very good. Location to the town was close and easy. Goreme had a nice vibe with plenty of shops and restaurants.

The WiFi was patchy at times, the breakfast was okay, caves can get very hot but that is to be expected.

The wooden steps were giving away and seemed dangerous. The cave rooms were warmer than expected.
